The food here is Amazing. Very clean, fresh and simple flavors and Menu. Their Tortas are amazing, big for $4.50. The chicken soup is so good, yet simple clean flavors. Their Alombres are delicious, like cheesy fajitas. Their Taquitos are street tacos. This place is a great little gem.

I have yet to try their grilled chicken, but can vouch for almost everything else on the menu.

I would describe their food as clean, fresh, simple, delicious. Their service is always fast and friendly. Not too quick to where you know its pre-cooked. I would definitely check this place out if you want a healthier Mexican food.

Don't get me wrong I love greasy carne asada fries with guacamole and sour cream, but you won't find that here. You will find a clean, fresh tasting Mexican food. Not Rubios or Fresh Mex Style, either;...

EXCELLENT Chicken Soup. When places say "Best...whatever " one is always like...okay...yeah sure buddy...you know. In my humble opinion Don Pollo hits the mark with the chicken soup. Absolutely Delicious. The broth is so clean and bright, vegetables are not overcooked. The squash and carrots have a crunch and bite to them. The rice sitting at the bottom of the bowl is the right accent to it. The jalapeño gives it the right heat, to bring everything together. I wanted more, but my belly full. Just the perfect bowl of chicken soup. Moving on to the tacos, overflowing with meat and guacamole. Don Pollo hits the mark again. You get your money's worth every time. This hidden gem in Poway prides itself on its grilled chicken...which I must say is rather tasty!

This little hole in the wall is right off of Poway road. Not easily visible from the road, it is a healthier alternative to some of the "fast food" Mexican food places located along the main drag.

Don't let the fact that this place is more "fresh food" than fast food fool you. While it may not have as many options as other places, what's available are solid options.

The chicken itself is delicious, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The chicken soup is to die for. Chock full of flavor, it is worth a try.

The street taco plate is great if you're undecided. The carne asada is tender and juicy.
