I’ve been to this library about 6 times. I was so happy to find a good library near by but, everytime I’ve came my children and I has been harassed by the same lady everytime in the children section. I bring my 3 year olds for there first time here for Storytime it was great. The second time is when we first came in contact with her. My kids would use the crayons and they fall on the floor she would be cleaning up right after them, if they use the blocks and they have a little disagreement she would take the toys away from them. Honestly so annoying have to deal with I have no problem with someone correcting my kids but, now it’s become that she finds something to harass us about. I was reading a book to my daughter and my daughter had her shoes off she wasn’t even walking and she came by and said oh make sure she puts her shoes back on when she walks which I understand but, I feel like I’m being picked on and harassed everytime by the same person. It really sucks as a mom to have to deal with this kind of treatment from an adult when all we want to do is use the library without being bothered everytime. I talked to the manager and he didn’t seem to care either. I truly believe if you want to work around kids please have a love in your heart for them because they aren’t perfect and they don’t need to be picked at everytime they come her by...
Read moreMy favorite library in the region. I visited city and county libraries in a 20-mile radius from my home in Sabre Springs; yes, there are two entirely separate and separately funded library systems available to San Diego County residents. Of them all, I love Poway’s County Library the BEST. I’m here almost every Saturday afternoon. Others have commented on the rich offerings. I’m also impressed by the Volunteers who augment the staffs’ efforts to serve the kids, high school and college students, adults and seniors; a LOT of tutoring saturates the meeting rooms’ calendars. My friend who is a doctorate in law and who is blind, feels very comfortable asking for anything (references, recreational reading [audio] and movies [she likes the dramatized dialogues], and she comes here frequently. Finally, the Bookstore is totally and enthusiastically supported by the volunteers, and it’s sales and festive book-sales. THIS library is a fun and...
Read moreThe hours make it almost impossible to visit. Mon - Fri: 10am to 4pm, and closed on weekends? Really? Used to be my favorite location, but the current hours are really inconvenient. Since open hours fall between the average normal working hours (9-5), why wouldn't they try being closed on Friday and Saturday, or Sunday and Monday? That way there'd be at least one day available during the weekend. Isn't the library also supposed to be for students of all ages to study, and check out books? With (elementary to high) school hours, other activities, and traffic, when are the library resources...
