Cancelled my membership after 3 consecutive years, recently some of my co-workers (7 people) wanted to begin a journey to a healthier lifestyle. Of course, I suggested Club 4. After one month of continuous feedback from the operations team ( they watch video footage of people working out ) we had no other option but to sever our memberships. Keep in mind, We work out at 4:30 am when the gym only has a dozen people there. After being told the group was too big, we split the group up into pairs of two which doubled the amount of equipment we were using. Once notified that wasn’t ok, we asked to use the group fitness room and isolate ourselves from the main gym. The staff agreed. We began working out in the room, no one else in there, no classes occurring, only to be told we couldn’t do that either. We could not workout together without the club getting paid for it!!!! So I wish you the best of luck on your fitness journey here especially considering we were basically forced out of the club for following the rules and guidelines given to us from video surveillance. I even offered to whomever on the operations team had concerns, come and spend that hour with us in the morning ( no takers ), then they could see we were just a group of friends/co-workers bettering our lifestyles. The operation team speculated ideas and made assumptions that just weren’t true but didn’t care enough to even have a phone conversation about their concerns! I’d like to also add, every member who spoke to this group I was part of had encouraging words for us, complimenting us on our hard work and efforts! Other members wanted to, and literally asked if they could workout with us! We were respectful, had fun, and pushed one another to be better every morning! I have been working out for 20 years and this is a first for me. I will add that Kyle at the front desk is awesome! You could tell he felt terrible to tell us we couldn’t workout there, kinda the whole point of joining a gym lol!!!
To the owner who replied: I would love to discuss the situation further. I actually requested to meet with someone to resolve any concerns regarding the thought that I was training in your facility. With a group of individuals who have different fitness levels someone had to keep the group organized and structured so we didn’t hinder anyone else’s workout. There’s many other groups of people who workout together and one of them is obviously leading and organizing. I can point them out. I’m sure my contact information is still available on file. Contact me and we can discuss further in respectful dialect. I’m interested in what was supposed to be communicated vs. what...
Read morePlenty of equipment. Generally nice/clean place. 24/7 facilities are convenient. Employees and members are polite. There is a good mix of different kinds of people so it doesn’t feel weird.
Being able to sign up online and not have to deal with a real person to get in is convenient, but then they caught me one day and had to take my picture which is unpleasant to me because it feels like profiling. It is pretty standard as far as gym procedures go (maybe for security and to prevent people from allowing their friends in without paying or something like that). They have a right to do it I guess and I respect their right as a business, but I just don’t like it and I’ll have the right as a customer to take my business elsewhere if it comes down to it. By the way, can’t you just do it through the app? (no, because then people would take unacceptable pictures….)
I see people scanning the app QR code at the door to get in and then go up to the desk and hit the QR scanners at the front desk too. Not sure if that is necessary, but if you scan once to get in the door, that should be the only scan necessary. I’m a programmer. I know how this stuff works.
Account/Code doesn’t work for hydromassage. 2 employees called me to upsell their personal trainer program (I respect the hustle, but it sounds like they don’t have a well organized “do not call” type list), but then cannot be bothered to help me with the hydromassage and they kindly suggested I go to some one at the front desk during my next visit, which comes across as lazy. If they cannot be bothered to communicate with their own co-workers, then it justifies why I’m not interested either. This is why I’m an introvert because when i detect BS i get belligerent, so i just avoid the confrontation. It doesn’t inspire confidence in their management culture and if the trainers cannot be bothered, it makes me wonder if they actually have the discipline and mindset to exceed health wise and inspire that in someone else. Then again, there is another sucker born every day.
I come to the gym after hours and the app didn’t work (server probably down) so I could not get inside.
They pester me with emails (upselling and reminders/bragging about how good my membership is). I respect the hustle, but I had to block them because I respect my peace.
Each problem individually isn’t a big deal, but they add up. They likely will tell me to call them because they are not interested in being transparent. Maybe for good reason, but I’m sure the rest of the audience reading this review...
Read moreHigh hopes of bettering myself came to an end over a gym that is starving for money. It took all 7 of my work partners to talk me up to making my first step to changing my life. After 1 month of showing up 5 days a week giving it all I had I was basically forced to cancel. We was told that they have been watching film from day one and that i was paying for a personal trainer. That is 100% incorrect he is a work partner that has experience in the gym that’s all. Club4 is looking at it as them mission out on 8 people paying for a personal trainer but instead 8 people just canceled. We was very respectful followed every rule and people in the gym loved us. It all started one morning when we noticed a Club4 trainer (blond headed Goliath chick) rolling her eyes and Obviously Roid Raging because we was pushing Club4s sled on the artificial grass. When we asked if there was an issue we was told not to push the sled and with the group be this large we need to find another gym.(mind you it’s 4:30 in the morning with maybe 12 people total in the gym) I advised all of Prattville to look into Express fitness and give them your business before you become a...
