10.20.24 New shopping trip to spend my refund. Unfortunately was the only person profiled in line for shop lifting! I worked in retail for many years. The Manager, female on duty asked if she could take my hangers off my purchases???
She touched my stuff, bag, jacket and phone. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHOM SHE OFFERED TO TAKE THE HANGERS OFF OF PURCHASES in line....
11.07.24 When this was brought to the attention to the lady with the pink hair, she was in different to my experience. She mentioned that it was unusual for someone to do that.
She droned on and on about the TJ max cards..n
Update: Spoke to customer service, 3 months later, and they still fixed the problem. I was shocked. They gave me a gift card for the amount of the running shoes. Thank you Tim!!
Wanted to return a pair of running shoes, wore them twice. Both times gave me a blister, even tried two pairs of socks!
Paid cash, the employee told me that since I wore them, that I could not return them.
Then she proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with the shoes and maybe I could resell them? ( I hate being gas-lighted, basically I am the one with the defect, oh and sell them so they could become someone else's problem...)
I was shocked, if something is genuinely defective it should not be sold. She shrugged her shoulders and called over the Manager ( Mary Ann) , who explained that they did not take back used items, this is why all items are below retail asking price, so they are discounted?
I explained that I understood this however these running shoes were defective. And could not be worn.
I did mention that if they were selling "as is items" there should be a label saying as much. This is the first time I have had to return something defective. And was appalled that it was suggested that I was defective, they told me that just because it gave me blisters does not mean that it would not give someone else blisters.
Then they both started parroting, "it's against health code violations."
Looked around the store, everywhere the "return" policy is listed and saw nothing of what the health code violation is supposed to be...BEFORE PURCHASING, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF SOMETHING IS DEFECTIVE, THEY WILL BLAME YOU, AND SITE HEALTH CODE VIOLATION....Disappointing. Seemed indifferent like it was a hassle. Oh I have 3 tjmax cards, I will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to TJ Maxx a couple days ago and the person that checked me out at the register wrapped up my perfume and set it aside instead of in my bag. I called to get a refund because I live an hour and a half away from this store and they told me that unless I drove the hour and a half to pick up the perfume within in a month, I was basically going to have to take the loss on almost $20.
So I went back a couple days later to go get the perfume. I figured might as well purchase a few items after making the long drive again. I purchased some sheets and the security tag thing was still on it when I came home. It was hidden so I didnāt see it till I went to go use the sheets. I called again to see if there was a way I could get it off without driving another hour and a half and again I was told so was basically SOL. Now Iāll have to drive there a THIRD time because of another mistake they made.
I donāt blame the employees. I know everyone makes mistakes. However, the customer service is terrible and it amazes me that they did absolutely nothing to help me even though it was their mistake. The manager was extremely rude and not helpful. I was not offered a refund or credit to the store for the inconvenience of making me drive there over and over.
Whoever owns this store needs better management and customer service. Telling customers there is nothing they can do after their mistake...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas in there tonight with my friend and my 8 & 10 year old. My daughters asked if the could go look at the toys. About a minute later they come running back telling me that werenāt aloud to look at the toys. An employee told them they needed to be with their parents. I walked up to the employee to see if there was a problem. She said it was TJ Maxx store policy that kids needed to be with parents at all times. I asked is this something that is posted on the door? She stated yes you want me to get a manager. I found another employee and she was completely unaware of this store policy. I then went back to the employee and told that if it was a store policy all employees should knew this and asked for a manager who then told me itās not store policy. The employee then tried to change her story that she was just telling the kids for their safety they should be with their parents. During all this my children were within eye view of me and obviously vice versa. The employee tried to change what really was said and the manger told her Billie itās fine just let it go and go back to what you were doing. Now if the employee was nicer and told my children or myself she was doing out of concern ok cool no problem but to insist it was store policy and it was posted at the door is ridiculous. I would have appreciated the truth over a lie and then another to save her lie to...
