First, I will say Keith is a very nice man. I initially wanted to sign up my granddaughter and me for a ceramics class as part of her HS graduation gift. There weren't enough enrolled, so I asked how much a private class would be for the two of us. Keith quoted $85, so we scheduled two hours in April.
First off, keith seemed busy and distracted. He was the only one running the store, and we got a late start (like a 1/2 hour). I was under the impression that paying $85 an hour included glazing and all firing. We were put on a wheel each, given brief instructions, and then he went in and out of the back room studio.
From the website, "This is a water-based clay and an oil-based clay class. Firing of your projects built in class is included in the class fee."
There was a great lack of communication (except for hearing all about his health, miracle healing, bad karma, and conspiracies), as nothing was said about having to pay additional for firing ($60), glaze $15 ea, and another firing $30) when in a "private class." After five months of asking if our creations were ready to glaze, Keith contacted me and said they had been fired with another person, and I owed $30. I was not asked if it was okay with me to share with only one person and pay $30.
Price breakdown from Keith: It takes about an hour to glaze/paint them. $15.00 per person. I am donating the glaze to you guys. The firing will most likely be shared with the other person again. Total cost of the firing for you was $30.00. $30.00 for the glazing and final firing at $30.00. Or $90.00.
Our bowls were nothing special. I made mine too thick and thin in places, so it has cracks. They are small, maybe 3 to 5+ inches. After checking with my granddaughter, we decided they aren't worth it to pay any more money.
The whole experience was less...

I drove 2 hours to come to this store because of a canvas shortage. The owner personally stretched some canvases for me. When I picked up the canvas I was interested in some new products and he was instrumental in helping me make my choice.
