New Years Eve AND my wedding night— we got married on NYE in downtown Prescott. We actually had our photographers walk with us from our reception to the hotel since there were a ton of great “photo moments”. The front desk already had our bags and everything by the time we arrived. I had asked that they leave a bottle of red wine in the room, but they left champagne which we didn’t feel was a huge deal since they have a full bar so reasonably we called down to ask. We were told that since the bar had closed at 9pm, that they were unable to bring anything up to us. My husband went down and talked to them but still the answer was no. The next day, when we checked out, the front desk manager said that there is an entire alcohol cabinet reserved for guests and that she would talk to the staff about this. We paid over $400 for the room due to the holiday and since we paid for a King Suite. Thankfully, my brother had beer delivered to our hotel so it all ended up working out 🤣….no thanks to the Hilton! Maybe to some this is a small thing, but since it was my wedding night, there was so much they could have done to help a girl out. I grew up in this town and primarily go out of my way to support small businesses and historic hotels but we chose the Hilton since we only needed one night (Hassayampa is a 2 night minimum) and since I have always had nice experiences at the Hilton in Prescott at their splash pad, with coworkers at the bar, and family for dinner, I thought it was a great choice. It’s very clean and a little more “upscale” than other places around. Additionally made sense since our photographers took pictures of us on the bridge behind the Hilton— it just made sense to chose this hotel for a variety of reasons!! It’s just a little crazy to me that they didn’t try to do anything the next day when the manager found out about the bottle of wine. It bummed me out for the money we paid… don’t get me wrong though, my wedding day was the best day of my life and I wouldn’t change a thing. Personally, if I had known ahead, I would have made arrangements to stay somewhere else or bring my own bottle of wine! Lol since it was NYE where the heck would we have gone to buy anything?? The Hilton sent me a link to provide a review but,I’m the fine print, it said it would expire in 3 days… well I was on my honeymoon and didn’t get the opportunity to complete the survey so I guess leaving a google review is the only, very public, choice I have. Still giving three stars since I don’t have the heart to go lower and since technically, everything was nice and clean. We had a lovely view of the fireworks downtown at midnight as well! I guess my advice— if you enjoy a glass of wine after a HUGE day to settle your nerves, and you stay at the Hilton, bring...
Read moreWe were surprised by how premium this hotel felt, given the fact that Garden Inns are a midscale brand. Location is great, right next to to Downtown and a cool bridge that backs onto the property connects to a nice creekside walk as well.||We appreciated that even in November the outdoor pool was heated and there was a hot tub as well. There is also a restaurant with great food. They do Happy Hour from 3:30 to 6 weekdays and all day Sundays and had great deals on drinks and appies. We also are breakfast at the restaurant for 3 mornings in a row and the food was consistently delicious.||I'd originally booked a balcony corner room. The room was absolutely huge and had lots of windows with some nice views of the surrounding mountains. We Loved that there were two sets of blinds (sheet and blackout) and they were electronically controlled. The balcony was spacious although the street noise was quite loud when outside (it didn't bother us when inside though). The room also had a fridge and a Keurig coffee machine and the in room coffee was very good. Only issue is that the bathroom was set up for wheelchair accessibility which we didn't realize (not a fan of those showers as water ends up everywhere) so they very kindly switched us to a suite.||Honestly the suite wasn't as nice! Although large with two rooms, the living room had no windows at all and wasn't a very inviting space. It didn't have the cool mechanized blinds and the bathroom was much smaller. It was still nice but hard to compete with the corner room. Also, the shower pressure was intense, like a fire hose! Never thought I'd complain that a shower pressure was too high but it was bordering on painful!||The only other thing I'd say is that room cleaning only happens every other day, not a huge deal but it means you'd want to ask for extra coffee pods if that's important to you as they only give you two at a time.||Overall we were very impressed with our stay and...
