Please do not go here for your phones. To detail what we experienced yesterday, Dan assisted us in upgrading our two cell phones. Since yesterday afternoon I have spent an hour on the phone with Verizon because: 1) Dan very much did not want to be asked questions about the details of this transaction, let alone answer them. He enrolled my phone number in "5G Do More" and enrolled my husband in "5G Start" - he deliberately enrolled me in a higher cost cell phone plan without my knowledge. Not once did he show me a summary of changes he was making, he just had me sign a new agreement. I had to call verizon to revise my phone plan to be the same as my husbands plan. 2) He enrolled both phones in "Verizon Mobile Protect" which is an additional $17/line. I also had to have that cancelled and removed from our bill. 3) We were automatically enrolled in the Verizon Cloud program, which was never mentioned to us. Free for 30 days but then another monthly charge after that. I had this removed from our accounts as well.
I have never heard a sales associate say things like "it's whatever", "it's no big deal", "don't worry about it" so many times. It was highly unprofessional and frankly just weird to be speaking this way to people that are buying $1,000+ phones. He also shrugged off some very normal and reasonable questions I had, such as "will you wipe the data from my old phone before I leave the store?" - to which he replied, "there is no need to be so stressed" - and Oh boy let me tell you, having someone say this when you are asking simple questions in a calm manner will definitely not make your customer happy. This was an appalling amount of non-chalantness, which is a way to get you to feel at ease so they can sneak in the extra add ons I listed above. Dan also was trying to push us to buy screen protectors in store - they are overpriced. $30+ per piece, with a "warranty" that if it breaks you only pay $10 for a new one LOL. They sell 3 packs of protectors at other major retailers for less than $10, so that is where I ordered mine.
I realized from other reviews that this is not actual Verizon store. The location is owned by TCC and the fine print on their website is: TCC independently operates this site and is a Verizon Authorized Retailer. Keep this in mind when shopping here.
Finally, most of the 5 star reviews for this store are highly suspect and I have a big hunch they are fake reviews. Take that for what you will and best of luck if you shop here. Review all account changes carefully and do not let them pressure you into signing things without reading exactly what changes they are making to...
Read more*Please head to Mercer Mall for the company-owned Verizon store, and avoid this franchise store. Service will be better at any company-owned store. You'll get much better deals, and they won't add extraneous charges to your monthly bill.
Read some of the negative reviews, and you'll realize that most of the positive one-liner reviews were forced upon by the salespeople onto the customers. They make their customers click 5 starts and instruct them to copy a specific line into their reviews and do it in front of them.
If I could give this store zero stars, I would. I went in to upgrade my phone three years ago. The store gave my iPhone 8 Pro Max $400 trade-in value and slapped a $20/month insurance plan on to it even though I specifically told the salesperson, Jacob Fryland, that I didn't not want any insurance. By the way, Verizon Customer Service told me over the phone who the salesperson was after I made a complaint. My husband and I have been Verizon customers since 2001, so we trusted Verizon not to add any extraneous services. Fast forward two years later, when I discovered the $20/month charge that I had been paying, I went back to the store and disputed this. The store manager's attitude was one of total nonchalance, saying he was willing to do nothing, that it was entirely my fault for not checking my bill. I was getting ready to transfer my number to T-Mobile when a friend told me about this trick to always go to a company-owned store. I did, to the one at Mercer Mall. After hearing my story, they ended up giving me and my husband two free iPhones of the latest model along with a heavily discounted iWatch that my son needed; they also gave me three months of credit for the insurance plan I explicitly rejected. I checked my bill for two cycles after the phone upgrade. No extraneous charges whatsoever. What a day and night difference! I later heard from the same friend that it's an open secret that franchised phone stores like to add on unnecessary monthly charges and push accessory sales for revenue. After all, to a franchise / third-party owned Verizon store, the one-time sales they get are more important than keeping you as a happy customer on the Verizon network long-term.
Don't be fooled by all the positive reviews. This store can be very friendly when you're purchasing a phone, but dishonest...
Read moreMy husband and I came to the store location. Not by choice, but because we had to return equipment. And there's only two locations princeton and woodbridge. So we went to Princeton location. upon entering the store we brought the equipment in and there was a gentleman sitting at a desk. Don't know his name, but the customer service went sour really, really quickly. I don't know what happened. He was snipping at us and we snipped back at him. all we wanted to do is a return equipment. He threw all the equipment in another box. I tried to give him a reference number when I called Verizon and he didn't seem interested in it, so that gave me the impression he was able to just taken the equipment and that number wasn't needed. Towards the end of the transaction, it got better. so I thought maybe we hit him on a bad day. upon reading all the reviews here it seems the only good reviews were people bought a phone. All the people that had some kind of o problem that came in wrote a bad review. I understand that customer service can get very tough for a person doing that position, but you have to be patient and listen to customers. I can't believe this person still has their job. I hate to say this but everything went wrong with Verizon. At first I was so excited with the phones and cable sving money when I switched, but once the cable was installed the TV's never worked right. They would turned off and turne on in the middle of night, the t.v.'s wouldn't respond to the remote. It just didn't work out. We brought xfinity back and everything's flawless. It's just one of those things. As far as the customer service, that's another strike, TERRIBLE. I'd never go back to this company....
