If you are looking for breakfast, look elsewhere. $15 for two small eggs and two tiny pancakes served in a box with frozen butter and fake maple syrup. Oh, and you cannot eat inside. They made me go out into the cold where the food cooled down in like 30 seconds. Iād give anything to turn back time and eat anywhere else.
Update based on owner response: An amusing response, but there is no possible way that the source of materials is a factor in the pricing of this meal. I buy locally-sourced organic eggs myself. I pay $4 a dozen for extra-large eggs. That's $0.30 per egg. This restaurant charged me $2.50 per egg. Of course, one might say that part of that is the time to prep the food, so then one would ask: how much would two eggs cost? Is it $2.50+cost of additional egg? No. It's $5 (i.e. twice the cost for two eggs versus one egg). And there is no way that preparing two eggs is twice the effort of preparing one egg. Sorry, but that reply is simply your creative way of trying to put a positive spin on a negative review. And as for the pancakes, when paying $9 for two pancakes, one might expect them to be a standard 8"-ish size that you'd get at basically every other restaurant in the world, not a 5"-ish mini-pancake. That's less than half the pancake that one would expect (and, might I add, not what was shown in the picture on display in your store). And the cost of materials for a pancake? About $0.15 for the box mix. So calling it a factor of 10 for organic stuff, that's still giving you $6 of profit. No, the cost of materials does not even come close to accounting for your prices.
As for eating outside, that's probably something you'd want to make clear at the beginning for a guy coming in from the cold. Or maybe put up an obvious sign on the door (if you had one, it definitely did not catch my attention - and it likely would have since it was a deciding factor for me).
I also wish you well as a matter of kindness to others, but no, I'll not be donating to your food-based charity...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not fully sure if this is a good review for LiLLiPiES or for the excellent service provided by Nina, a store employee. I visited the store with high hopes and higher expectations after stumbling upon it in Google Maps. I entered the store while on the phone (rude, I know) but as the phone call concluded, patiently waiting was Nina with a bright smile. I asked for help, overwhelmed with the euphoric smells and the sight of the pastries in the display case. Nina quickly went through the lineup of handcrafted pastries, but I wanted to get to business. I asked what Ninasā favorites were, and she replied with the apple pastries (Apple Turnover and Apple Scone) and the Salty Pretzel Cookie! Obviously, with the rapport Nina quickly built with me, I added them to my basket. Nina artfully assisted me with deciding my next few pastries. As she helped me another employee delicately packaged my choices. I checked out and headed home (expectations higher than ever after such a great in store experience). I unleashed my beast (boyfriend) on the pastries. After we sampled each one, you could hear a pin drop⦠on carpet. We were speechless.. This bakery is from now on our all time favorite. Thank you, LiLLiPiES. Thank you, Nina....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came on a Sunday around 145pm and the closed at 2pm. They still had a lot of options to select from.
We purchased 3-4 types of Lillipies, 2 cookies, 2 baked donuts and 2 cinnamon rolls. Items that were average: the cinnamon rolls and the chocolate peanut butter lillipie. We will not order either of those items again. A āGoodā rating goes to: apple crumble lillipie, oatmeal raisin cookie m, brownie lillipie and chocolate cake w white icing. However, the salted chocolate chip cookie, pear berry lillipie were excellent and would definitely get those again!
2 reasons I give it a 4 instead of 5 stars is because their hours of operation are very limited. I have tried to go here several times and they have been closed. Secondly, I ordered a glass of skim milk (because they didnāt have any milk in the guest refrigeration section). The milk made my stomach sick and I had bathroom issues for a couple hours. I would recommend to the store to offer patrons prepackaged milk options where you have your juice...
