I genuinely dont know where to start. The lay out of the store for one, is absolutely atrocious. The dairy section is cut in half and on opposite sides of the store, the freezer section is scattered with several dry good aisles in between. But thats not what bothered me. The issue is the employees. I had a few items and was attempting to pay at self checkout, needing help with cash stuck in the machine. I stood at the kiosk for a good five minutes, help indicator light flashing, whilst I requested help on the touch screen. Waiting for assistance patiently as it was a little busy. The attendant is standing there making conversation with a buddy. Then when trying to get their attention this employee looked right at me, and walked past me to help someone else which was rude but fine, i spoke up again once she was done to get her hand in my face. Which quite frankly was infuriating. (No words mind you) as she walks away AGAIN to take someone out of line and chat, then i speak up once more. Just To receive an incredibly rude “wait” before deciding to Disappear from view with no explanation and get a manager who was just as rude. I attempted to apologize about the bill stuck in the machine, just to receive an annoyed “yep.” And half hearted okays and other dismissive favorites as I tried to make conversation. you need to train your employees on how to act and get them huge attitude adjustments. I’m paying enough to be in Provincetown as is, why am I going into stop and shop and paying to be dehumanized as well. Frankly this was a digusting display, and to see these same employees talk to friends with ease tells me these interactions had some type of motivation. Which is abhorrent in 2025. Stop and shop get a...
Read moreI love foreign people, I love meeting foreign people, I love having foreign people in my country. What I do not love is when local businesses hire foreign people and not train them in the customer service Behavior of America. This particular Stop & Shop is 99% foreign employees who couldn't give a Flying Fig about customers. When you ask them where something is they simply say I don't know and walk away. When you tell them that there's a jar of broken food in the aisle they say it's not my responsibility and walk away. The store never carries anything that's in the required sizes in any of the stores flyers for discounted products. The people who run the counter for the customer service off and disappear leaving a sign saying gone for the day. So you can't buy Lottery use Western Union return a product. This is an extreme inconvenience because this store is in Provincetown, it is the only Supermarket for about 40 miles, you don't have the choice to go anywhere else, and you have to travel here from other towns. For myself, I am only able to make it into Provincetown to do grocery shopping once a week and when the proper staff is not on hand nothing gets done. I've complained to the management before, I've even complain to the corporate headquarters. But like all corporate terrorists who don't give a Flying Fig about anything but your money, nothing...
Read moreI come to Ptown any chance I can and I usually shop at the East End Market. On this particular occasion, I went into Stop and Shop to pick up a few things. The cashier, Milinca, checked us out. She did not greet me but instead carried on a conversation the entire time. She did not ask me if I had a stop and shop card or coupons. I purchased a large cooler and some chairs. My wife put the cooler on the belt and she carelessly flipped it over several times looking for the barcode before rolling her eyes and waiting for us to move it to the cart. The same happened when she rang the chairs in. There was also a large puddle of water on the floor that I slipped on and she did not acknowledge that it was there, and that someone else could slip on it and get hurt.
This is the problem when large companies come to small towns. Never again!! If I could give this experience no stars I would. Sticking to small businesses from now...
