I left our trip to Provincetown a little late to book, but as it was the tail end of the season, this did not prove impossible. It did, however, mean pickings were either ridiculously expensive or incredibly slim, and I stumbled upon the Watership in my quest to find a reasonably priced accommodation.||||The booking process was simple enough. 50% of the total was taken at booking, and the cancellation policy fully explained to me. The rest was due at the time of the stay. ||||When we arrived, the rest was paid and we were given a room that turned out to be a converted porch. It was cute and small, but comfortable. There was an air conditioning unit and also a window fan, which was great, because if you wanted the outside breeze, you could choose and not have to opt between freezing or too hot. Everything in the room was rustic, but the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure good, there was a mini fridge, and the room was kept clean. We forgot to hang the Do not Disturb sign on the first morning, so they cleaned the room, but we opted out for the rest of our stay, given we were only there for a sum total of three nights. ||||There is a continental breakfast served free every morning between 9 and 11 - it is so wonderful to have the option for a lie in and not have to worry about missing breakfast. It was simple but satisfying - boiled eggs, muffins, fruit, cereal, and coffee. ||||There is free WiFi and it works well. ||||The location is amazing - half a street away from Commercial Street and all the sights and bars and main stores within walking distance. We walked everywhere we wanted to go - the Causeway, the Pilgrim Monument, the Beach, the shops. It was great to be so well located and it was wonderful to be tucked into a quieter side street and not directly on Commercial Street.||||We only encountered staff minimally, and apart from check in, only said hello in passing. Check out was weird - the guy seemed stunned we wanted to hand the keys directly to him - but otherwise fine. ||||All round, a great location and good value for money in PTown at the last minute. Read moreMy daughter and I have been traveling to Provincetown annually for 13 years and have stayed at several different locations. This was our first stay at the Watership Inn. ||||We booked the Skysail Suite, which is ideal for people who are traveling together, but who would prefer to each have their own bed. We had a full sized bed in one room and a twin sized bed in the other. We typically left the door open in between, but it was nice that we each had our own space. ||||Each room had a dresser, so plenty of storage. There was one closet, between the two bedrooms. We had a mini-fridge, which was very handy. There was a window air conditioner in each room. The price we paid was less than we'd paid in the past at places where we had to share a queen-sized bed!||||The Pros: Comfortable mattresses, lots of space, a fantastic PRIVATE deck with a view of the monument, a lovely yard for relaxing or eating a picnic. Staff is friendly and helpful, location is ideal. It was quiet and peaceful while being only steps from all the action. Housekeeping made up the room daily, something a lot of inns have stopped doing. ||||The Cons: I cannot exaggerate the impact of the roof-lines in this room. It was clearly converted attic space and you can only stand up straight in a VERY limited part of each room. Head bumps were common. And the slanted roof in the bathroom made for a smaller shower. Speaking of plumbing, the shower was slow to drain and the toilet slow to flush. ||||They offer continental breakfast in the really lovely lobby area each day. Being fans of the near-by Liz's Cafe, we walked the two blocks to eat there. ||||One of the staff showed us some of the other suites which are available, but I think we'll choose the same room next year. It just worked really well for us and we honestly don't need any more space than the...
Read moreFor years my friends and I have stayed at Watership - this was my fifth time and fourth consecutive year - and we have always felt warm, welcome and well taken care of.||||This year they are working very hard to comply with all the necessary aspects of Covid-19 safety protocol while retaining as much normalcy as possible.||||David, Mikey, Jim, Ricky and company are professional, diligent and friendly, and the rooms are all unique and charming. The ethos is thoroughly New England. There is one room in the far back of the complex - I believe it’s called the Sail Loft, but double check if you need to - that has a ceiling too low for an especially tall person. I’m barely 5’7 and hit my head a couple times in that unit during our stay in 2017. It was otherwise adorable. If you’re tall, simply let them know while making your booking.||||Watership is located close to the center of town, so you can easily walk virtually anywhere you need along Commercial Street, and it’s a quick ride to Herring Cove and Race Point beaches.||||They also have a charming selection of boardgames and a lending library of books of all sorts, rounded out with a working payphone.||||Watership does it right and we are happy to...
