I grew up here, spent 13 years in NY. My parents home/property was right between 2 apple orchards. So one of the ways young men make a little money was picking, and processing the apples.
The first time in NY that someone told me that they were taking the kids apple picking, I was So Confused, but Iām Very timid , especially around strong, business type people, so it took me a minute or two before I could speak, and I was So nervous, and very confused, and the only thing that I could get to come out of my mouth, was a quiet āwhat do they pay you for doing that?ā š¤¦š»āāļøš¤£ this added to my confusion because these people have plenty of money It ended up being one of my favorite fall time activities. And honestly, in NY, if youāre just wanting some apples, this isnāt where to get them! Because itās So Expensive! Youāre basically paying for the experience.. let the kids see how food grows, and experience picking, and eating the apples. Itās a great experience for the kids! They Can learn a lot there! All the āapple picking farmsā have a little shop, where they sell anything that was baked with the food they grow, like apple pie, cute little crafts, and some local artists/crafters.
As fresh, and delicious those NY apples were, right off the tree, they donāt even come close to Allredās apples. In fact, Allredās has totally spoiled me! As much as I love fresh apples, Iāve been So Spoiled, that I canāt even stand apples from the grocery stores! The few times Iāve broken down, and bought apples at a store, Iāve been extremely disappointed, because they donāt have much flavor, and Iāve even been known to throw away grocery store apples. Iāve learned my lesson, and wonāt buy apples anywhere else! Iāll simply, wait All Year for my favorite season! I call it āAllredās Seasonā! Iāve never had such Amazing Fruit before! You can tell how much they Love their family business, by the way the fruit looks! I believe that the Allredās family poor love into Every piece of fruit they grow/sell. Either that, or they secretly inject extra sugar/flavor into each apple.ššš¤£ I am really glad that itās a long standing, family business, that seems to cross several generations. I dread the day when I canāt get Allredās apples, whether itās be because of My health, or heaven forbid, Allredās goes out of business. If that ever happens, I really hope that I can die before Allredās dies!𤣠(I have a strange sense of humor). When anyone asks me what my favorite season is, I answer āAllredās Season!ā
I Love the Lemon Alberta peaches! And of course I LOVE Allredās Honey Crisp Apples! Once you try their fruit, youāll instantly fall in Love with Everything they sell! Youāll finally taste what fresh, healthy, nutritious food is suppose to taste like! I canāt imagine how anyone can taste those apples, and easily go back to buying grocery store apples! Yes, thatās right! Iām an Apple Snob! Allredās created this Apple Snob!𤣠Whenever I find any superior product, I tend to get a little bit crazy! I spread the word, so everyone else knows what Iāve discovered. It doesnāt matter if itās apples, craft supplies, nail art(Iām a licensed cosmetologist). When I find a good product, superior to other things out there, Iām extremely loyal!!!! I tell Everyone about it, and I Love supporting local, family businesses!!!
Thank you Allredās for all your hard work, and dedication to create the very best food, that is So Nutritious! After food is picked, it instantly starts losing nutritional value. So to eat something that was just picked, (At Allredās, you buy what was just picked that day, or the day before). Thank You!!! I hope you all know how much we, your faithful customers appreciate you! And I especially Thank You for all the Love you put into your work! Itās very visible by the way you treat your customers, and how much care you all take to give us the very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have purchased fruit from Allred's for years and had no problem, except for the employees. The fruit and juices are really good, but the big problem for us is that the employees seem totally indifferent and like we're bothering them to even ask a question. This has been a frustration for years now. Sometimes you do get a "nice" person helping you, but that is purely the "luck of the draw." For instance, today I called and asked if they had anymore of a certain kind of apple. The employee said "no" they didn't. I said, "Really?" and she said with a very indifferent voice/attitude sounding like she wanted only to get off the phone, "Yeah, we're all sold out." So I asked if they knew any other orchard group that had them, because really nice businesses will help each other and often know or hear of what another competitor has and share the information. The employee, who had a rather indifferent attitude and sounded like I was bothering her by asking my question, answered me with, "Well, grocery stores." Hmmm...I wonder why I didn't think of that? Well, HELLO Ms employee. Here's a tip: EVERYONE knows you can get apples at grocery stores, but we also know they are not as good as ones from local orchards nor does mostly buying from grocery stores help our local growers, thus (news-flash) we come to your business to get them. For me, the employee could have used a kinder voice and happier attitude when dealing with the public. Her voice, as I've already said, sounded like she was a little miffed to not be off the phone a little sooner. So for what it's worth, Allred's could really do themselves a favor and UP their "customer service" game for ALL employees...after all, they are dependent on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has the best peaches in Utah. I live in Arizona now and they think if itās a Utah peach that thatās all we need to know but Allredās is very specific in having some peaches that are specifically designed for canning and others that are better just for eating and freezing. You can call them to find out which peaches they have available each week. Theyāll help educate you on which are better for canning and which are better for eating. They also have a selection of nectarines and pears and apples. They pile the boxes high and sell them for a reasonable price this year. It was $27 for the medium size and $30 for the large size peaches. They sell half bushels which flat would be about 22 pounds but because they stack them so high, Iām sure itās at least 25 if not more. If you donāt mind not having pretty peaches, they also sell boxes of blemished fruit for $15 which is a great deal for amazing flavored fruit if youāre just gonna chop it up to freeze for smoothies.Iāve tried other orchards and nobody else has a better price or a better product as far as Iām concerned. I drive from Arizona each fall to stock up on these...
