I used to love Heindselmans, until 3 days ago. I could find yarns and products there when no one else carried them. HOWEVER, when I entered their store I was met by a low gluttel growl and a large black dog came around from the front, ears down and guard stance. I recognize this as I too have had dogs and actually love dogs. I stopped and waited for the dog to "back out of guard mode" but she /he did not. I asked, "What about your dog?" and got this response from around the corner, "Oh she is just our Walmart Greeter. chuckle, ha ha" I Waited. Still no one got up to check on their dog or their customer. So I added, "This doesn't work for me." backed towards the door and left. They just lost a customer. It was not funny and very unsafe. I'm just warning potential customers to beware of their carelessness because you just might be put off as I was, or worse off bitten. Dogs are dogs and "oops, sorry, I didn't think she'd bite" does work. ENTER AT...
Read moreI just moved into town and had signed up for a Craftsy class online. I checked all over the place for the supplies I needed. I was confused about half the threads and flosses recommended. I finally went into Heidlesman in Provo and they were beyond wonderful. Very very helpful and not pushy. I had a ton of questions and they didn't seem to mind at all. They didn't have everything I needed but gave me some really good ideas of other substitutes. I needed really specialty items for a Sue Spargo Wool Embroidery class. They are more of a yarn store so it's not their fault, but they have a huge supply of DMC and Elizabeth Perle Cotton, Thread, Floss and Yarn for Embroidery. I just needed really specific hard to find items like Valdani, Wool and silk threads that they did not carry but I did seem to leave with a bunch of items to try...lol....I am thinking of learning to knit just so I can hang...
Read moreThis place is amazing. They are the 1st operating yarn store in the United States and to date have been owned and operated by family. They dye their own yarn and their colors are beautiful. The ladies there were very friendly and helpful. They not only have yarn, but there are also examples of items your can knit or crochet, as well as the patterns for everything on display. She pointed out that while sr brands of yarn tend to fade over time, theirs is more likely to hold it's color--as shown by the displays they have. Their cotton yarn is amazing too, with prone to very minimal separation, unlike what you often get with cotton yarns. They have classes available and when there isn't one you can take your project in and if you need help they can and will give what help or advise they are able. If you just want to sit and visit you can do that as well. I...
