Dave saved our vacation to Yellowstone National Park. Let me start by saying I have dealt with plenty of auto repair shops and mechanics over my lifetime. Also I do most my own auto repair and maintenance. On our way to Yellowstone park from North Carolina towing our camper with our Ram 1500. I noticed a humming sound when we got in Kansas, coming from the rear differential. When I got to Colorado where we were visiting my grandson We set up camp and the sound was still coming from the rear differential but not as loud as towing the camper. I tried to have several auto repair shops to take a look at it but no luck. They were all booked up or no one had any knowledge to fix a rear differential. So or next stop was Provo Utah, so we took a chance and continued on. We made it to Provo and set up camp. The humming sound stayed about the same along the way to Provo. The nest day I went to a repair shop and he looked at it and agreed with me that the sound was a bad bearing in the rear differential. But he was booked up and admitted that he did not have the expertise to fix it. So he sent me to Dave Varga at Pro Audio Pro 4x4. I went to Dave at Pro 4x4 and told him my story. He was very understanding and said he could help if he could get the parts. He contacted me later that morning that he had found the parts and to bring the truck in. I took the truck to him and he helped me get a rental car. I then had to extend my stay at the campground in Provo for 1 more day and tell the campground in Yellowstone area that I would be late 1 or 2 days and not to give away our site. I also had to pay for the days I was not there. We were in a tough situation and prayed Dave could get it done. Dave called later that evening and told me he got the Ram on the lift and told me the oil in the rear differential was very thin like motor oil and smelled burnt. He told me was going to work on through the night and call me late morning. The next day, Dave texts me 11am to come and get my truck it is fixed. I was shocked. I never had any mechanic work on something this complicated so fast. I went to get the truck and Dave showed me the pinion bearings that were bad. They were in really bad shape, I was lucky to make it to Provo. Anyway sorry for being long winded here but you need the context to understand the story. He rebuilt the whole rear differential and it works great. He went out of his way to help us and that is rare today....
Read moreIts been about 4 years I have worked with Dave, Colton, and their team. My experience is two fold. Personal projects, and business projects. Over the last 4 years, I have spent over $65,000 with these guys. They have been key for the success, security, and safety of my business vehicle fleet, and enjoyment of my personal vehicles.
With my business (Jones Mechanical Inc, HVAC contractor), I have a fleet of commercial utility vans that they have retrofitted power windows, backup cameras, nicer stereo's, and led lighting, and custom fabrication of a middle seat to our vans. They have been a one stop shop for us when it comes to anything related to A/V, lighting, and interiors. Their turn around is reasonable considering the scope of work I have given them. Like anything custom, I understand the details it takes to do a project correctly. They always lay out the schedule, and give lots of updates as they make progress.
With my personal stuff its a different beast. I am very detail oriented. A project I did with them 3 years ago was a large project, custom 6 door truck that scope included custom head liner, custom interior, A/V, celphone booster, surround cameras and many other features. On that project, I brought all of the audio components to them. They did amazing. Against their recommendation on the components I supplied to them, they still installed them, and did an amazing job. That said, I regretted that I didn't listen to them on their recommendations. If I would have, the overall sound quality would have been way better, and would have met my end goals.
Dave, Colton and I are taking on a project this month on my daily driver, and I can already tell that its going to be amazing just in the design process and components they have selected. These guys know their stuff, and have a passion for what they do. No matter what your budget is, they will layout layout expectations, and exceed them.
Its great to work with a company that is owner operated, and that really has a passion for what they do. In the end, when it leaves their shop, its going to be correct and reliable. Its not in their blood to do things...
Read moreThis is only the 2nd review I have ever posted. But I HAD to say something! I am one of many at our company that uses Pro Audio 4x4. We are ALL completely satisfied and grateful for their amazing service and competitive prices.
Recent story: Pro Audio put new Airlift air bags on the suspension of my 2013 Toyota Tundra. They completed the job 45 min before they said they would. I know they did a great job. I tested everything. After they gave me a quote, I searched far and wide for better pricing, but COULD NOT FIND ANYWHERE that had better pricing. I just needed to save as much money as I could. I was getting the best deal from Pro Audio. When I came to pick up my truck, Dave (the owner - very personable) said that the compressor I had in there from an install I had gotten done through a dealership 7 years ago was still working fine, so they did not install the new one, but gave me the new one so I could have it if and when the current compressor went out. In other words, THEY DID NOT FIX WHAT DID NOT NEED FIXIN. This is HUGE for me.
Ok, so then I drive away and my truck will not start. I thought it may be caused by Pro Audio. But, I have NEVER had any problems with anything they have done for anyone at our company. Even though Dave was busy, he spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out, checking everything. The problem was with NOTHING they did, it was wear and tear on my battery connectors that was stripped. Dave was out of the part I needed, but searched and searched his place and found one tech that had a multi-connector for my battery. And then, he installed it. He was going to do it for free. But, I INSISTED I pay him. I was just so impressed and grateful. So, he charged me a mere $20.
I highly recommend Pro Audio 4 x 4. They have PROVEN themselves...
