2/24 Child care couldn’t keep my 2 year old happy for more than 15 minutes. There were hardly any toys & not enough workers and no TV so some of the kids were bored and crying. I asked for some food toys for the toy kitchen area & they gave me a toy pizza and tomato. Within seconds 4 kids surrounded my child & took them away from him. I asked for more & they said those was the only food toys they had! I asked if I could donate or bring my own toys & they said they don’t have a place to wash them & they don’t want them stolen. Excuses. I said I don’t care if they get stolen, I just want to exercise & if my child is crying I can’t exercise. The supervisor said I could bring toys today only & would see about the future. I saw my child alone with other very young kids in the gym while I was upstairs with no adults nearby. They should create partitioned areas & keep similar toys in different stations & have a worker at each station and rotate workers so they don’t get bored, to make sure toys don’t get mixed all around the room. Then just wash the toys at night & stop whining about their jobs. The supervisor Alexa has no kids of her own & told me if I don’t like it I can just leave. Horrible customer service! Cathy is her supervisor and seemed very passive and not too concerned. She said they want the kids interacting with each other and the adults so that’s why they don’t have many toys. But there aren’t enough adults to do that because the babies need to be held. Babies are the same price as all other ages which limits the amount of kids they legally can watch, because babies require more attention. They should charge more for a 6 month old baby than older kids so they can afford more workers. There was also a child with a bad cough in there and they aren’t supposed to let them stay there when they are sick. Their philosophy is not to try to accommodate as many kids as possible but to rather weed out the parents who care about how their kids are treated so they keep numbers down.

They don’t have an arch trainer, which is better for your knees than an elliptical, but I’ve heard there is one at the ice rink which you are allowed to use with a membership.

They should have made the track oval shaped so you can run without sharp turns. A waste of money!

11/22 hair and dust all over kids play area.

Life guards won’t allow baby floats! They don’t even know the reason why. Why take away the things that make it fun and worth coming on a regular basis with kids. It’s boring after 20 minutes. The water at swim lessons and the outdoor pool is too cold for skinny kids, especially with the obnoxious water spraying them in order to get on the play equipment. They need to separate the air for the shower and changing rooms from the air-conditioned air for those exercising upstairs because heat rises & it’s FREEZING once you enter the shower and changing room areas when you are wet. The showers don’t get more than luke warm sometimes so my child is blue by the time we are done and refuses to swim at swim lessons due to being so cold. There are no paper towels in restrooms/changing rooms so you can’t clean up any spills so someone had shaved at the sink and there was hair all over the sink and floor. Also, there is no shelf for shampoo or conditioner so my bottles fell off the dispenser and broke, spilling shampoo on the floor and no way to clean up after myself. They need more benches & hooks in the family changing rooms so you can put your duffel bag on it and sit down with your child to change. The floors are covered in hair. They need more parking by the doors, & put trees in the rest of the lot that shade cars. Kids over age 5 aren’t supposed to be in the locker rooms with parents of the opposite gender and Cathy said to tell the manager on duty and she will come talk to them to tell them to use the family changing rooms. She won’t put signs up because people won’t read them if there...

So yes the indoor rec center is amazing and fun!! But, my complaint is with the life guards at the indoor pool!! I went with my two and six year old for the first time! My son who is two decided to refuse a life jacket several times... He ran and jumped into the whirl pool, without a life jacket. As I ran and jumped in after him, there were above t 4-5 life guards who supposably didn't hear a screaming mother yell, as loud as I could,someone grab my son" NOBODY even attempted!!! The whirl pool is heavy and strong and as my son was drowning, he was also being pushed by other people who were in the pool!!! It is almost impossible to get a life guards attention even though they are making their rounds.. I'm lucky my son was not tramatized by his experience but I sure as heck was!!!! Seeing my son struggle to breathe for that split second when I was supposed to have a memorable fun time beyond infuriates me!!! I should feel safe with the four to five life guards around but I surely did not!!!!!!! They need better more professional training and the fact that their is a life guard chair by the whirl pool with nobody in it makes me even more mad.. i should not have to scream to get a life guards attention and still don't get it until I am almost in their face!!!! I don't think I've cried that much in a long time.. either I was being rudely ignored or the music was to loud that they can't hear a emergency when it's needed!!!! Last but not least the head life guard or manager life guard asked me what I want him to do??!!! That blew my mind.. like I want to not see my son drown with five life guards near by!!!!! Maybe I should buy a whistle to get their attention If I choose to come back.. horribly bad...
