Jan. 14th, 2020 - Jan. 2021 I came here on the recommendation of a friend. I was very surprised at how quickly the technicians were able to help me realize the ring I had in mind for my now-wife. Everything seemed near-perfect on my first visit, but I noticed everyone was rushing around me and even hurrying me up a bit. Near the end of my designing, I was informed that they were supposed to close 10 minutes earlier. So, it was nice that you guys stayed to help me. I wasn't aware that a jewelry store with this reputation would close as early as 6pm, pre-covid. My mistake for not looking, but what an oddball time to close.
I came back on my scheduled time and was helped by someone else. This visit felt extremely rushed and impersonal, though nobody else was in the store and it was midday. A gentleman helped me select the jewels that would be fit. I decided diamonds on the sides and the highest quality moissanite for the center stone (since it was a 6th of the price of a diamond and the technician explained it was basically a lab diamond). He was a bit pushy but helpful. When we finished with the design, he took me straight over to the cash register and charged me full price... I was a bit blown away - I knew the price, but fully expected to be offered payment plans or something more feasible. The other jewelry stores had offered them to me, so I simply asked if we could make payments and he told me that was fine, that I could pay on separate visits. This really shocked me, though; I felt like they were just moving me along the assembly line and ringing me up. Still, they were so nice and good with the ring that I excused it.
Before leaving, a different technician told me to come pick up the ring 2 weeks from payment. This was 1 week later than my engagement, but oh well - I don't blame Forge at all and our engagement was still awesome.
The following Friday came and I walked in expecting my ring. Another technician (that I had never encountered) greeted me. When I gave her my name and she realized my ring wasn't ready, she became very rude with me and patronizingly asked if I had received a text to come and get it. A text? When was this explained? I was very taken by this and even argued a bit, explaining that I hadn't been told about any "texting thing." It didn't change her attitude and I left upset.
Another week later, and the ring had finally arrived. It looked great, though some minor details had been shirked. I was willing to let them go, having been warned by the very first technician that certain aspects may not make it. However, she also told me that the ring makers would blend the differences. When examining the ring, I noticed that some lines were not blended in the design and it made me pretty upset. I spent a lot of time and money on this ring, only to have it's detail be seemingly brushed aside. My wife loves it, though, despite that (Also, the moissanite looks better than the diamonds, interestingly).
Fast forward to a year later. We go in for the yearly inspection and cleaning. Everything goes smoothly, and the ring even looks better than when we first got it (how?). Then we get one of the managers - the very one who originally charged me a year previous - who pulls us over to the computer to explain what they did. Nicely, they rhodium plated the ring for free (to protect it - awesome!). Then, in front of my wife, he explains that the jewel's quality was fairly low and that I could get a higher quality moissanite to replace it, or even a real diamond. Whoa there! Talk about a low blow! I felt like he was intentionally trying to embarrass me in front of my wife, especially since she wasn't aware it was moissanite, so I would buy something bigger.
In conclusion, there was often poor communication, each occasion was always hurried, I met too many different faces, and I felt like most interactions led to my wallet. Otherwise, customer service was helpful and 99% kind; the warranty is great and the ring even better, despite a...
Read moreI waited 2 full months to write this review just to make sure everything was good and I’m super happy! My fiancé bought my ring/wedding band online, but I needed them resized from a 6.5 to a 5.5. I did some research and this place wasn’t the cheapest (cost me just shy of $150 to resize the 2 rings) but it by far had the best reviews. Originally, the service was great. Lily was the salesperson we talked to and she was very nice and helpful. She was patient while I figured out what size I wanted the rings adjusted to and the timeline for when I could pick them up again was about a week. All went great, I picked them up, and then put my engagement ring back on and my wedding band away until later. Only a few days had gone by after getting it back when I noticed one of the diamonds was missing from my band (I have a paved engagement ring). It was the one on the very end - and prior to this I had worn my ring for months with no issues. I’m very careful to take it off when I sleep/shower/do dishes/anything that could potentially damage the ring.
So I reached out to Forge again and asked if maybe the stone wasn’t tightened properly after the stretching to tighten the band. Jennifer was the salesperson who responded to me then and had me bring it in to look at. Again, my fiancé didn’t buy the ring from them, and honestly they resized and cleaned the rings beautifully. I really don’t know if it was their fault or not, but they were very accommodating and took care of the missing stone at no cost to me. I also left them with my wedding band which they doublechecked all the diamonds for security on and now after getting them back, I’ve worn my engagement ring for months now with no issues.
Honestly super happy with this place and their customer service. The issue I had really could’ve been a coincidence but they were quick to take care of it and now I’m definitely recommending this place to anyone who has jewelry needs, and will go here myself in the future. All in all, it’s not the cheapest but I’d say what you pay for in quality and customer service makes it very cheap...
Read moreI recommend the Forge to all my friends and family! From small jobs like having a favorite necklace spot welded, to my custom 25th wedding anniversary ring, they have been amazing, professional, and affordable. The goldsmith on site insures that your precious items are unique, jewelry grade, and that your items won’t be sent off to a random worker elsewhere. They stay right there on site. You can see the designs in process ; I had a wax mockup of my ring before it was cast to ensure that the piece matches my hopes and dreams. The Forge invests heavily in the education of their employees so you are working with very knowledgeable staff who can help you to get you exactly what you want. They do not work on commission, so there are no high pressure sales and they truly want each customer to have the best experience possible - within your budget. The family at the Forge have taken so many of my items from broken to breathtaking. My dear friend had a broken tiara (Mrs. International 2019), and was nervous about how it could be fixed by someone competent enough to mend, and not ruin, her bespoke headpiece. Knowing the quality of the work, I sent her straight there. My Aunt has her mother’s ring that had worn completely through the platinum on the bottom of the band, and I sent her there. My daughter needed a crack mended for a special ring she’d been gifted from South Africa, and we went straight there. Flawless mended work left everyone over the moon. Going in nervous the first time dissolved within moments because everyone is so warm and inviting that you are just immediately comfortable. (Shoutout to Jennifer! I adore you!) No pressure sales, they work within your budget, and such excellent work, I can’t help but sing their praises- I...
