No parking! This building was an enormous waste of money! The huge glass atrium entrance looks nice but cost additional millions of dollars and will be a tremendous cost to Puebloans for the wasted utilities as long as the building stands. To A/C 50 ft ceilings surrounded by glass facing east and south w direct sunlight heating space that serves no purpose but to look modern and make the broken judicial system employees feel good walking into work each morning. People like myself have been strangled by the idiotic site plans, which set up those beholden to a court date and time, have nowhere to park because employees that fill the building arrive to work first leaving virtually no parking for hundreds of citizens which must be on time to attend court for any reason (justified or not) or face legal consequences including "failure to appear" which slaps a bench warrant on your record, which most often results in being arrested even before guilt or innocence is determined for something as innocuous as traffic violations such as not having proof of insurance on hand despite being insured... That was in fact all I was having to appear for which was simply dismissed when I provided the D.A. with my auto insurance after hours of time wasted when I could have simply provided via email or uploading to a website saving tax dollars for real issues our legal system should be focused on like rampant drug abuse or driving under the influence... I had no choice but to park in an empty private dirt lot across the street or possibly be late. So instead of making money on a Tue during work hours I had my truck towed costing me hundreds of dollars and 2 more hours to just get my truck back after no charges, fines or penalties were issued. Why did I have to illegally park to be on time to show the DA a piece of paper proving I was legally driving? BECAUSE THERE IS NO PUBLIC PARKING TO SUPPORT A BUILDING NEEDING 3X THE PARKING SPACE "AVAILABLE" FOR CITIZENS TO FOLLOW THE DEMAND TO APPEAR WHILE EMPLOYEES USE THE ONLY LEGAL SPACES ON SITE! It's like building a house without a garage or driveway with no parking on the street allowed, even though if you did park on the street it wouldn't interfere with traffic or anyone whatsoever. I asked the tow truck company how many cars are towed around the building like I was and they admitted it was nearly all of...
Read moreFirst I would like to say I try to follow the rules and laws to not spend any precious time in courts. Well, this was my first time inside this fairly new building. The facility was just beautiful and clean, it shows whom ever is in charge of cleaning this building cares about doing a stellar job!!! My only complaint is I feel the middle part of this building is just a waste. However that's my opinion,. I'm sure who ever designed this building had the mind set to come up with a pleasant design keeping in mind that going to court isn't usually a happy time. Yes the impact when one is viewing this part of the building does take your mind off your problems if only for a few minutes.
The staff came across as professional and helpful. When we arrived at the assigned court room I was surprised to find the doors locked, but I'm sure they have a reason for this. Having never been to small claims court I became aware you need to do your "homework and ask questions"!?!?!?. I was under the impression that small claims court should be easy for people who are not seeking a large money award as well as not being an attorney. How wrong I was!!!! A small example is about serving the parties your bringing the suit against. Who knew that you can't just serve the person who manages the complex for their video footage. No your, by law, required to serve the "agent" who represents a facility. Who knew that you have to go to the Secretary of States office to find out whom the said agent is. What is very confusing is, while the paperwork your given to file a small claim has filling information, no where is it stated that you must serve the agent but not the manager who is the only person you deal with. Please keep in mind no charges were being filed against the manager the subpoena was requesting the twenty four hour surveillance video.
The Judge was kind and had no problem answering questions in a manner that a non trained attorney can understand. Please know going to any type of court isn't for the faint of heart. Also know the clerk's can not give any legal advise. So give yourself plenty of time to be prepared and hopefully you will have a good outcome....
Read moreThe Da's work with public defenders to withhold exculpatory evidence proving your innocence. The judges sit through sworn testimony from detectives then allow the da's to lie to the jury about what they said - saying they did not say it after they clearly did. Its all about sacrificing the lowest level of misdemeanors so they can let their friends committing felonies go with no charges. They will make you spend money on drug testing weekly even if the crime had no relation to drugs and you have never done drugs. Its all about extracting thousands from each person while ignoring and surpressing truth. Your public defender will tell you they appealed but its all a lie. Their hope is they can sacre you into silence about what they have done.Know the truth about their hearts...
