From the first time I stepped into the store I knew that I was going to get a new experience than from what I expected from a department store. Here I was a junior in college and I needed an internship in the community and the owner of Lily's Bee's (Melanie) was right there eagerly willing to help. Fast forward four years and here I am writing a review to let people know-how at home Lily Bee's can make you feel and what it can provide you education-wise. Personally I have learned so much about the fashion industry and being a small business owner from Melanie. It is amazing the amount of time she has spent and is willing to spend on someone in order to help them. I also have seen how caring Melanie is with her customers and how much she loves her store and the people who come in. All of the store items are handpicked with care in mind by Melanie and she is always looking for the best quality clothing so that others may appreciate and keep using said item hopefully for years to come. I am still in love with the store and the atmosphere it provides to anyone willing to come in. So please if you come in and don't have the experience I have had, try again on another day because I am sure it is just an off day or miss communication that is happening. I mean we all have bad days, right? Because I assure anyone, if you are willing to spend the time to talk and get to know the people in the store, they will give you more than what you came to buy. I will forever love and cherish Lily Bee's for what this place has done for the consignors, community, and the people who work there. With love and peace,...
Read moreProm season is coming up so my friend and I wanted to look and see what styles and colors we would be interested in so we decide to go look around, not purchasing anything quite yet. So we come in and we aren't greeted right away but the worker who greeted us after we walked in we both thought was a customer, just saying hello. We are then approached by a woman who immediately seemed upset. She was not welcoming whatsoever and she asked us if we were planning on purchasing anything and we explained that we were looking around to see what styles we would be interested in for prom. We were immediately told that we couldn't try on any dresses because it would "ruin the dresses". Then after saying that she proceeded to ask us what size we were looking for, which I thought was pointless because we can't even try them on. After looking around she then tells us that we are looking at the dresses wrong and that we needed to pull them a certain way because the "straps would get tangled with the others" which confused us because the dresses were in individual bags. The worker continued to glare at me and my friend the whole time as if we were going to take off running with one of the dresses. My friend and I were waiting for this woman to tell us that we couldn't breathe on these dresses as it would again "ruin the dresses". Overall dresses were very overpriced for the style that they were and the service...
Read morefor 4 years at WSU and always have been hesitant about shopping here. It is advertised as a bridal store and the window displays are clearly targeted towards more mature styles so I have never been interested. However, I have heard good things about price’s recently from coworkers so when I had a class project come up regarding touring local retailers I took it as an opportunity to shop for myself and collect data for my project. I was browsing the front dress section first and was not immediately greeted upon entrance as the clerk was speaking with another customer. This obviously didn’t bother me so I began looking through the dresses to take pictures for later reference. The clerk still had not greeted me so I figured I was fine to continue. However, she suddenly came over after apparently realizing what I was doing. She asked if I was price matching to online options and I was honest and told her about my class project. Her demeanor instantly fell cold and she said she, “Doesn’t want me doing that in her business.” I felt incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcomed and instead of attempting to explain myself I just left. This is really unfortunate because I actually did like the clothing and would have purchased something day of or would have brought my mom who’s coming next weekend to shop with me. But unfortunately I don’t see myself giving this store another try. Very...
