The Velvet Shoestring — Local services in Radnor Township

Velvet Shoestring is a great spot to pick up high end furniture and accessories for very good/fair prices. I think the better deals are to be had by the buyer ratherthan the consignor. For example, a $4500 piece can be bought for 1,200 which is a bargain. But the seller only gets 1/2 of thee selling price which can be a hard pull to swallow. I have consigned many things there and although i might've been able to get more had I sold it on my own, the convenience of just dropping it off all tiere an then picking up a check is certainly worth it. I sold an entire living room and dining room. Mostly within 30 days a few pieces took a little longer. They have a very good social media presence on Instagram, so as soon as your items are received and posted they get a lot of views and interest. So that’s certainly helps them sell things quickly. The store is so full of just about anything you need for any room in your house, but most of it tends to be on the traditional side. If you’re really looking for something ultramodern I don’t think this would be the spot. However they do have modern pieces here and there. I happened to be visiting the store when an unfortunate event happened which prompted me to write this review. The Velvet Shoestring is my happy place. I love finding things here for my home as well as consigning pieces I am ready to part ways with. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, and really go above and beyond to make things happen. Consigning here is extremely easy. You sign a contract, drop off your pieces, and cross your fingers they sell (which they do pretty quickly.) You call to check to see if your stuff sells here and there and go pick up a check if it sells. It’s not rocket science and the process is laid out in the co tract that you sign. They have always paid me on time, thanked me for consigning, and invited me back. This isn’t a glorified junk shop. You have highly trained individuals who run an excellent business bringing the area beautiful and unique pieces. They have an eye for style and truly are pros in the business.

MY FAVORITE FURNITURE STORE!!!! Where do I start....the velvet shoestring offers top of the line or handmade furniture and other decor at an amazing value. I love that they post some of their new inventory on Facebook; I almost always see something I love! Their selection is both affordable and unique (most recently I got an Asian outdoor statue, a large tibetian painting with a beautiful gold frame and a gorgeous wooden console table), all of that for under $250!
