My visit here was a bit underwhelming. Upon entering, it was extremely busy with a line forming out the door. However, we had driven a bit of a distance to get here because it's a location on a Coffee Passport Project I'm filling out. I took the line to mean that it was worth the wait. We did end up getting the last 2 seats available in the cafe, so that was nice, at least. I was pleased to see they offered macadamia milk! Most places only offer oat or almond as alternative dairys, however when I asked the barista whether or not it was sweetened with sugar I recieved a tentative response of "um, I don't think so..but I'm not sure" but did not offer to check for me or make sure. I did not feel comfortable ordering it because of dietary restrictions I have, and I did not want to hold the line further by asking her to check for me; I assumed it would be common curtesy to check for someone after they ask a question like that. I ordered something else instead. The coffee was still good, nonetheless, and worth the wait. However the cafe needs some renovations! The way the ceiling is constructed makes it so the voices bounce off quickly, and suddenly, you can't hear the person talking who is sitting right across from you! Prices were standard. I'd say overall, this was just an average cafe and nothing special. Maybe when they're less busy, it's a more...

We always walk past the Gryphon Cafe, so I thought it would be nice to try it one day. It was difficult to get through the cafe because the tables are crammed together and you're forced up against people like sardines. The ceiling fans were going full blast when it was 30 degrees outside (older folks had their coats on); it just wasn't comfortable at all. The staff were friendly enough, but they were also visibly overwhelmed which resulted in the space not being clean or kept up for new patrons (everything was overflowing). The upstairs bathroom looked like a scene from a HORROR movie. I crawled all the way up the stairs and have a 68 year old bladder, so I had no choice but to use the facility. No place to put my purse and it smelled something awful. I didn't mind the urinal, but I did mind how dirty it was. If they're not cleaning the bathroom, what else is not being cleaned or seen to? I love the idea of supporting local businesses, but this place needs a lot of work and more staff. I left two stars for my re-full and the convenient outlet next to my table for my tablet. PLEASE, please clean this cafe and the bathroom. There were young children and senior citizens who are the most vulnerable to germs...

I’m not sure how this place is still in business. I learned my lesson (for the second time in a row) that the folks who work here don’t know what they’re doing. I think the store is run by high school and college students. The first time, I came in the morning, (fairly early but soon after opening)—I was ordering prior to going to work, and saw them making/handing over breakfast food to customers who ordered just before I did, and then proceeded to tell me that the kitchen was closed. Okay, strange, but no problem. I thought it was just circumstantial and a little weird, but alright. Then, I come back, all I do is order a large cold brew that I paid $7 (!!!) for, and one of the women working hands it to me and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was half foam. I went to ask if the foam could be poured out and if it could be filled all the way with coffee, but then she was nowhere to be found. I guess it was fine that it wasn’t completely filled because the coffee tastes like dirt. Hopefully they’ll get it together, because this place is way too expensive for the less-than-mediocre service provided. Take your...

The pourover seemed underdosed, but the beans came through enough to tell they do a good job with their roasts. The latte was very well made in both taste and image. I picked up a bag of Columbian since they roast on Tuesdays, when I happened to be working upstairs. The upstairs is dirty, dusty, and smells of mold, but it was easy to look past and was actually a neat place to spend the morning to get some stuff done. At the time I was there, the upstairs portion seemed more like a library with how respectfully quiet everyone was as they read, worked, or idly scrolled on their phones. If you're looking for parking just turn the corner towards the train off r30 and you'll find a parking lot on the right with a kiosk/mobile pay, very cheap. All in all would reccomend.

I visited based on locality and happy cow (a vegan/vegetarian app) looking for breakfast options. They had 3 pastries to choose from. The lass at the counter also suggested I could have a toast with hummus, but explained that they were undergoing a menu revamping and would normally have more to offer. I grabbed a brookie, a maple scone and a golden milk latte with macadamia milk. The golden milk was alright. The pastries were good. The service was kind, patient, and friendly. The wait was not long, but the space is tight on a busy Monday morning. I opted to eat outside, but I would imagine that it's a pleasant space to grab a bevvy and do some computer work at a less manic hour.

I was visiting out of town and decided to try this cute little cafe in a very historic building. I ordered the Sage and Maple iced latte with oat milk and a lox Philly muffin - both were amazing ! A few reviews say it’s “overpriced” but I would say it’s very comparable to other trendy coffee shops across the US. After walking around the rest of downtown historic Wayne, I actually stopped back in to get a to-go latte for my boyfriend. I asked for it iced and initially was given a hot version but the staff was so kind about putting it on ice. Overall, great experience !
