We had a negative experience, but it was bizarre in the sense that I watched other potential customers have what appeared to be a reasonable experience right behind us. We walked up to the counter after being sent there by our contractor, and asked to see tile options that fit specifications from the contractor. The associate came out of the office and told us they injured their foot and couldn't really help us (why not get someone else then?), acted put out, and just started vaguely pointing at different areas of the store and offered no further assistance (none of what was pointed to was in any way helpful or related to what I had asked). The next customer on the same line had an associate come out from the office, ask if they needed help, and acted completely normal, showing them tile around the store and talking to them about their project. I was tempted to just get on the line again and see if I could win the draw in a second attempt, but instead after wasting twenty minutes trying to find what I needed, I called the contractor and just bought the tile for our bathroom project from another store.
The real disappointment was that I was recommended Wayne Tile by a local family member who told me how helpful they were on his project. So the experience appears dependent on which sales...
Read moreMy wife and I visited this store yesterday in preparation for a bathroom project. We spent about 30 minutes browsing and not once did anyone ask if we needed help.
Although their tile selections and displays are impressive, we would never make a purchase here given the lack of customer service.
There were at least four salespeople ("design consultants") present, and at least three of them were just on their phones, including one who was browsing homes on Zillow on one of their desk computers. Clearly, they were not busy.
We made numerous attempts at making eye contact to see if anyone would engage, but they made eye contact and then simply looked away as if we weren't even there. Extremely disrespectful.
This aligns with other negative reviews that highlight a persistent customer service issue that management has failed to address.
It's ironic because we were ready to make a purchase. Instead, we got great ideas from their displays and will be placing our order at a competitor we visited right after.
Thanks, Wayne Tile Company Ramsey, for pushing us towards better...
Read moreShort review: Good selection of products, extremely poor customer service.
We didn't have a huge order (~$1,000) and we couldn't help but feel like we were an inconvenience to the sales people. I've had significantly better customer service at Home Depot.
My sales person suggested buying additional tile for 'waste'; I know this is normal, but a +25% recommendation seemed excessive, however I'm no expert or contractor, so I took her guidance.
Needless to say, I only needed 10% extra, (which seems to be the norm), so I went to return boxes of unused and unopened tile and was denied. I explained that their sales person recommended the exorbitant amount of excess, to which I was told they 'weren't the ones who measured the job', and I should have read the policy signs on the columns near the check out prior to the transaction.
My contractor told me they've heard this about Wayne Tile, specifically in the Ramsey store, multiple times, so seems to be a recurring theme.
Lots of other great tile stores in the...
