The pre-made salads are $9.50. The grilled chicken is extremely dry, so I asked to replace the chicken with turkey. Then it's $14. So I asked to just remove the chicken and have no meat. Then it's still $14. The reasoning is because it's now a "custom made salad" instead of a "pre-made salad". But.... it's all the same ingredients. Actually LESS ingredients. (And meat is usually the most expensive part of a salad.)
Soooo, I'll take the $9.50 salad and just throw out the dry chicken myself, and we won't be ordering salads from here for our office anymore. There are plenty of places that won't charge $4.50 to remove meat from your salad. (Side note, the additional money can't be because you now have to pay someone to make the salad. Someone made the same original "pre-made" salad, too.)
It's unfortunate, cause it's a silly policy that many customers are probably not even aware of. And instead of having a decent explanation for it (maybe I'm missing something??), the lady just kept saying "because it's now a custom...
Read moreFood is pretty good but the prices are ridiculous..if the food was amazing I would have no problem with the prices..but it's simply not THAT good.
UPDATE: Just called to place an order and was put on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. Bravo spring street.
Reply to owner: Not sure if you know but Bagel Train is 7 minutes down Franklin Turnpike in Suffern. They cook 100% of their foods on site, their prices are probably 60-75% of your prices, and the bagels/coffee are literally AMAZING. So i dont know what you sre talking about when you say your quality and prices are competitive for this area. Not to mention Buono Bagels and Bagel Stop which are both in Ramsey and have slightly better quality/prices than Spring Street. I stro gly recommend going and taking notes at one of the many great establishments nearby to...
Read moreTakeout only, that's why atmosphere doesn't count. But the food here is second to none. I remember when this place 1st opened, I knew it was going to be a gold mine. They had it set up for success right from the start. The prices and portions are on par. Everything in this Deli is delicious imo. The homemade soups are phenomenal. If you're in the mood for salad, pick your ingredients and they mix it for you. The actual Deli section offers many paninis and wraps that never change, I've tried them all and it's a fool's errand to try to pick a favorite, but if I had a gun to my head I'd go with the French Onion panini. They're all so delicious, and of course they have the egg salad and macaroni salad section with everything else behind the glass on the right side of that section. Well...
