Who's Toy House — Local services in Rapid City

I would NOT recommend booking a bday party with Who’s Toy House. If you do, make sure you get everything that’s listed on the Party List.

I booked my daughter’s Nov bday party back in Aug. It wasn’t until after the party I noticed I didn’t get 2 line items from the list: balloon bouquet and sweet & salty snack of choice.

I called Somer, the owner, a couple days later. She informed me there were no balloons due to helium shortage (even though it was on the list). She had ample time to inform me I was not getting a balloon bouquet because I booked the party in Aug and the party didn’t take place until Nov.

I also asked about the pretzel/goldfish and she told me it was in the party bags. I asked all the parents if they received pretzels or goldfish in the party bags. They all said no and they just got candy. Not just any candy——CHEAP leftover Halloween candies (Tootsie Rolls and Smarties).

Couple days later I went into the store to get compensation. Somer told me the goldfish were on the tables, which they were NOT. So she clearly lied to me (first they were in the party bags, then they were on the tables). She told me I must have gotten an old sheet, which is why the balloon bouquet was still listed. I suggested to her to update her sheet asap!

Btw I noticed a helium tank in the train room…which I thought was odd since there’s a shortage of helium 🤔🤔

She rudely asked me “What do you want me to do?!?” I told her I wanted compensation for items I didn’t receive.

She ended up refunding me $9.03! I paid about $250 for the party (not including the food, cake, drinks, etc I brought myself).

Somer’s customer service is HORRIBLE! If I could give her zero...

We love Who's Toy House It's the sister store of Who's Hobby House which has been a staple in downtown Rapid City since we were kids. Who's toy house has very interesting toys and games for children. They carry higher quality more educational toys than most toy stores these days. They also have plenty of items that are interesting to adults. They carry vintage toys and remanufacture toys which are also really really interesting. They even carry a wide selection of handmade wooden toys and other interesting handmade toys. Who's toy house is a great addition to the downtown Rapid City scene. It's nice to be able to do so much of your Christmas shopping in the downtown area without having it to go out...

Who's Toy House is one of my favorite stores in all of the Black Hills! Every time we have visitors, we make sure to take them to Who's — yes, even the grownups (who love it as much as the kids). Who's is where I buy every gift for every occasion — and I'm pretty sure I have equally as much fun shopping here as the kids have when they open their gifts. Somer does such a great job sourcing the unique, quality toys and games for every age — every time I shop there's something new to love. Who's Toy House is the best toy store I've ever seen — and we are so lucky to have it here...
