After my wife was diagnosed with cancer, we decided to take a last minute trip to the OR coast from Carson City NV with our 5th wheel before she began treatments. For whatever reasons, more often than not we've experienced some level of mechanical failure on these trips, despite providing our 2017 Silverado Duramax diesel with exceptional maintenance. This has always caused no small level of distress for my wife who suffers from chronic pain and other disabilities. This trip was going well, until we hooked up to head home and the check engine light came on. We were in Florence, and began calling mechanics in the area to have it scoped to see if the issue was critical. A number of establishments said they didn't have time, but Nick not only agreed to check it out, he worked through his lunch, found the issue (a clogged barometric sensor), got the part and replaced it, all the while educating me and my wife of the nature of the issue and the repair. I am the son of a mechanic, have done a lot of repairs on my own vehicles, and I know a competent mechanic when I see one.
