The new Trader Joe’s located in South Reno at the Summit mall is pretty good. They have a variety of grocery options and have great prices compared to typical grocery stores. I would recommend getting a few different to go salads, especially if you like Greek salads they are always a win. For individuals who like wine and variety of beers they have a huge section for that. The list of items that I think really are a staple to gather when you go there are the pound plus chocolate, mini chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread people, bambino, pizzas, orange chicken, thin sliced chicken breasts, the guacamole, frozen jasmine rice, red salsa, and the sliced mango. Things I would suggest not purchasing would be the different types of steak which four out of five times that I’ve had them. They have smelled very sour and I’ve had a weird taste. In contrast, the 96–4 prepackaged hamburger is really good. They have a really cool chip aisle with something for everyone and I would recommend the salt free corn chips with that pre-mentioned red salsa and guacamole. Surprisingly, even on the weekends, the parking lot isn’t overwhelming, which usually is a trait of Trader Joe’s so I appreciate that they have enough parking or maybe I just select the right times to shop.

I'm glad this Trader Joe's opened in South Reno, but there's some problems that need to be addressed, like the parking situation. First off there's only 2 handicapped parking spots for a big store like this, and the Renown clinic next door to share. The Carson Trader Joes has like 5 spots and that's just for a smaller store. The rest of the parking is a crazy traffic jam at best, unless you maybe go at 8am when the yopen or later in the evening. But go at Saturday afternoon, forget it! The inside is nice with wider aisles, and the products are all the same so I guess that's a good thing. The lines mover real fast cause like all Trader Joe's they get all the checkouts open that they need to keep the lines short. I guess if you live right near here, it still beats driving all the way into central Reno, cause that parking is no easy task either.

First of all….we are so excited to FINALLY have a TJs in South Reno! It was a massive zoo on day two but we expected that. My only upset is the layout is very confusing. I know we’ll get used to it but the Reno location just made more sense. This new location seems bigger but they don’t have anything that Reno doesn’t have…except a boat load of shopping carts not knowing which way to go! I’m gonna force myself to like it bc it is more convenient to where I live…but I wish the layout was the same.

Trader Joe’s never disappoints! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by incredibly friendly and upbeat staff who genuinely seemed happy to be there. Their positive energy made the entire shopping experience even more enjoyable.

The store was well-stocked, and I easily found everything I needed (and a few extra goodies I didn’t know I needed!). Whether it was fresh produce, pantry staples, or unique seasonal finds, the availability of items was impressive.

What really stood out was the exceptional customer service—staff members were not only helpful but also knowledgeable about products and quick to offer recommendations. The checkout process was fast and efficient, making the entire visit smooth and stress-free.

Overall, Trader Joe’s continues to be one of my favorite places to shop. Great products, an inviting atmosphere, and some of the happiest employees around—what more could you ask for?...
