I have patronized our local Walgreens since it was located next to TJ Max, in the strip mall, in Matteson. Then it moved to its own stand alone, right next-door, in Olympia Fields. They have always had professional, courteous, and welcoming employees. UNTIL NOW! I had a simple issue that could have been resolved more professionally, e.g., at 1:30am an item was rang up for a higher price and the cashier forgot to put it in my bag. I spoke with Corey, the NI manager, and told him my 2 issues, he was apologetic and told me to come back to rectify the situation. Since it was now 2:10am and I was not feeling well, I told him I would be in later in the morning to obtain the item and get a price adjustment. At 8am I was diagnosed with COVID and was severely ill. At 3pm, I remembered I needed to contact Walgreens to find out if they could hold my item and remember they will need ti issue a price difference. I informed the person of my diagnosis, how I felt, and that truly didn't want to come in until I was better because I did not want to potentially expose others to COVID. He hung up on me. When I called back I explained my story again and requesting to speak to a manager. I was put on hold for 8 minutes then the phone hung up. I called back and immediately asked to speak with a manager. After a 10 minute hold time, I used all the strength I had in my body, pulled myself out of bed,and went to Walgreens, all the while still on hold for a manager. When I walked in I immediately requested to speak with a manager. The clerk pointed to the back of the store, stating there were 2 managers standing next to photo. And I want to add,I was still on my ear piece, on hold. I proceeded to the back, where 1 manager was assisting someone with the photo kiosk and the other, while moving like a sloth, was grabbing a soda from the fridge and carrying a large bag of chips. The clerk informed him I needed assistance, as he tried to ignore my attempt to get his attention by refusing to give eye contact and dismiss my "excuse me." After the clerk informed him I needed assistance, he literally just looked at me. No introduction, how may I help you, what can I do for you,.....nothing. Me being so sick, I disregarded his unprofessional behavior of not introducing himself but also of not answering the phone for customers (I was still on hold waiting for a manager to pick up). I explained how I didn't get the item I purchased in my bag and was charged to much. He grabbed my receipt, without saying anything to me, walked down the isle and then to the original clerk. He spoke to him and walked away without saying anything to me. Again, I was so sick I just let it go. But I wanted ppl to know is our Walgreens has not always operated like it does now. These new employees need training in customer service, especially the new managers. I'm starting to wonder, is it by design these companies (or some entity) are hiring incompetent, poorly trained employees putting them in the stores out here so our neighborhood can be stigmatized and become a business desert. I know it sounds like I'm a conspiracy theorists, but that's what people label things when you are on to something.
And I had on a mask the whole...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could gv triple Zeros I would. My son was released from the hospital on 11/19/2022, the hospital called in 6 prescriptions. After getting him settled at home I went to pick up the prescriptions. I have his name and dob. Pharmacy tech said she didnāt see the prescriptions in the computer, then asked who was the Dr. I said not sure, I went to the car to get the discharge papers & when I got back she said found the orders and to come back in an hour. I left came back an hour and 1/2 later. Still had to wait another 30 minutes. I had a total of 6. Was only given 4. Was told they had to order the solution and it would be in Tuesday. Ok called on Tuesday, tech said an insurance issue, I asked how much without insurance, she stated $15, I said ok I will just pay for it, can I just come pick it up? She said ā hold onā never returned to the phone. I drove to the store while still on hold, walk in the store still on hold, 35 minutes has passed by now. Iām standing in line at the pharmacy and I ask a worker on the floor if I can speak to a manager, she said the manager just left. So I said ā thereās no manager here at all ā then she said she is a manager. So I show her my phone and that Iāve been on hold etc. She goes to the pharmacy window and comes back to tell me they are out of stock, I said the tech on the phone gave me the price, so I drove here to get it. She proceeds to tell me the tech on Saturday never put in the order to restock. The manager called a few stores & said she couldnāt get thru. She then goes to ask the pharmacist if there is an otc solution that we can use. She came back with 2 different options. I went home and googled it and guess what, IT CLEARLY STATES NOT FOR OPEN WOUNDS !!!! Now what if I had taken the advice of the pharmacist. Tried calling again today to make sure they order it, been on hold 20 minutes already. I called 4 other Walgreens and yes they were out of stock, but at least they answered the phone within a timely manner and was very professional unlike Olympia Fields. I hate to say it but anytime itās a store full of black employees, 9 times out of 10 you get attitude and unprofessional service. Iām black so this is not a racist attack at all. The techs at the pharmacy will work the drive thru see you standing there, donāt greet you or say someone will be with you soon or dog go home or anything. The pharmacist is also black and had on the dirtiest lab coat Iāve ever seen. I will be following up with corporate on Friday. Itās Wed the day before Thanksgiving and at this very moment, Iām on hold trying to get them to order the much needed prescription. This is horrible customer service. So now I have to return the otc medicine that the pharmacist suggested. People at this location do better. Customers find another pharmacy but please check your meds to make sure they gave you the correct prescriptions. If I can get my sons meds we will NOT use this store again for anything. I donāt like to see anyone lose their jobs but this Walgreens needs to have the doors closed permanently!!!! Btw Iām still on hold waiting on pharmacy and I have my house phone on hold for the store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe night pharmacist was rude to me in the drive through as she could not find my prescription. She told me to contact my Dr. and have him send my prescription over. I told her it was sent three days ago. She repeated her self and hung up on me. I then went in and she told me I have to wait as there are 2 people ahead of me and I told her I just came in from the drive through because she hung up on me when I was trying to tell her to check to see if my last name had been updated in their system and to see if my prescription was listed under my maiden name as this happened before. She refused to help and walked away like I didn't know what I was talking about or as thought I was not listeningto her tell me "my prescription was not there". I spoke to the young man at the counter after waiting for him to finish up. He then finds 2 of my prescriptions and whispers an apology to me because he could not find it before handing her the phone to hang up on me. I asked him were there any other prescription there an he said no and I said there should be more. I also told him how rude his Pharmacist was and thanked him for at least acknowledging his error and trying to fix it. I left, and then called the Tinley Park 24 hour Walgreens and explained to that pharmacist what happened at the Olympia Fields location and she looked up my information and tells me that I do have my remaining prescriptions there and gives me the prescription number to provide to them, only to have to go back and this time explain to the young lady pharmacy technichian what happened who was very nice. She found my remaining prescriptions and fixed my information in the system but had to get her rude pharmacist authorization who never came back to the window to apologize. Then asks me to wait about 10 mins as my prescriptions were not ready, even though they were sent in on 11/30/2023. After I waited she helped me and thanked me for my patience and apologized about my earlier issues as she was coming in as I was dealing with the boy who had no clue what he was doing.
I will not be back to this pharmacy as I never felt so disrespected. The Pharmacist never apologized about her behavior either. Tinley Park will be my new location as this location has definitely gone down as the customer service is subpar.
*This happened on 12/01/23 at 11:10pm for the first transaction with the boy who had no clue what he was doing and rude Pharmacist.
*Second transaction happened at 12/02/23 at 1:13 am as I had to go back after calling another Pharmacy in Tinley to confirm my prescriptions were at this location and the youg lady Pharmacy tech...
