Shopped here for a very long time, recently bought four new towels, got home, washed them and one of them fell apart. I returned it to the store (I did not have the receipt or tag) however, I am in that store about twice a week and the cashiers know me.
I went to the front and explained what happened and ask for store credit, the cashier gets a manager as I do not have the receipt. The manager meets her halfway behind the checkout and the cashier and explains what happened, I hear the manager, jill, state to the cashier “well if I can’t find the same towel, I’m not giving her anything.” The manager proceeds to go to the back of the store and look for my towel, the manager returns to the cashier area pulls my cashier away to make her aware she did not find the towel and couldn’t help me. The cashier comes back and tells me this.. I ask for her to bring the manager over to speak with me.
The manager comes over, lets me state my piece and says “sorry store policy.” I proceeded to ask for the fair amount back on store credit. She says “we’ll let me go look again!” Noticeably irritated she went back and attempted to find the towel in the same section I originally bought it from. The manager goes over to the clearance section, I walked over and explained I did not get the towel on clearance and found a towel, same brand, and similar for $9.99, which was how much I originally paid. The manger says “I can only give you 5-6 dollars.” I stated to the manager that I would never come to this store again if they were going to fight me about 3 dollars (I spend hundreds a month there).
Very unprofessional from store manager”Jill”. She did end up giving me $9.99 on the store credit card but you should’t treat customers in such an Unprofessional manner. Not to mention the lack of professionalism in how she spoke to me. The cashiers are wonderful.. management, not so much. Beware and...
Read moreI had a bad experience during checkout at Quakertown TJ Maxx. It was not the check-out girl, but the blond woman behind her (possibly a supervisor or manager?) who tried to pressure me into getting a TJ Maxx credit card. I politely refused at first, and she responded to me by asking me "why not", and trying to talk me into it. She apparently did not want to take NO for an answer; customers are usually treated with respect regarding the usual credit card offer, but I did not feel valued or respected as a customer this time. When I commented that store employees have never before this argued with me about refusal of their credit card, she did not offer an apology. This disrespect of me as a customer makes me want to just stay home and shop online where I am not harassed. In fact, I would prefer not to ever be offered a store credit card but just get through check-out quickly, if I...
Read moreI usually enjoy shopping at this location, but today I had a very disappointing experience. The cashier, Jeanine B., (maybe spelled a little differently) was not only rude but also argumentative during my visit. It is concerning when employees create their own rules instead of following TJ Maxx’s established policies.
Because of this encounter, I walked out and will think twice before returning to this store. I shop at TJ Maxx frequently, and I am very familiar with the policies. In fact, I likely spend more as a customer than the amount of time Jeanine has even worked here. so I am confident I understand the policies better than how she applied them today.
I hope that she can be given proper training on how to treat customers respectfully and follow store guidelines. It truly saddens me to be treated this way, as I genuinely enjoy shopping at TJ Maxx and have always valued...
