T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods — Local services in Richland Township

Disappointing experience: I love tj max and homegoods. This particular store in johnstown has the best homegoods selection I have ever seen within a tjmaxx retail store. I like to come in to this store about once a week to check out the jewelry and look around at the deals and what is new. Yesterday I went in because I had to return a pair of earrings because the sales clerk accidentally gave me the wrong ones a week ago. No biggie at all. I had time to kill and always happy to have an excuse to browse this store. Yesterday , however, I left feeling really terrible. It was very clear to me i was being followed by a young brunette sales clerk. She followed me around almost the entire store. I have an eye condition that makes me very sensitive to lights and I need to wear sunglasses pretty much all the time. I dont know if that made me look suspicious or something maybe? I understand it is their job to watch out for theft but sales people need to not make their customers feel like criminals. I paid for the sandles I found and them asked them to please hold my bag up front so I can use the restroom. She followed me into the bathroom! I dont mind people doing their jobs, but the way did acted made me feel terrible and I really love this store but now am nervous to h go in. I usually scope out what I want to buy before payday so I don't have to search for it later. I can just get what I want and leave quickly. How ever today I believe I was being profiled in the store. At first the same lady was in only a few isles as I was but, after seeing her in the same isle several times with no items in hand and no shopping cart, I then believed that I should have been wearing a suit when coming into the store. If a person is sent to spy on you they should not be so damn obvious. Also, they should not judge a book by its cover. I have say I couldn't concentrate on checking out what I wanted so I just grabbed any old snack and left. Got to say I don't like being profiled. A home and clothing department store that has completely different selection compared to Walmart or any other store near by. They have big name brands for a mid to inexpensive goods. Their housewares include things such as rugs, lamps, dishes, cooking supplies, bottles, mugs. They have also have luggage and bags, some electronics, coats, pants, shirts, bags, belts, makeup and other clothing.

Don't expect SAME quality as their original retail stores, however it is still a the same brand.
