fab'rik Carytown — Local services in Richmond

The reason I gave Fabrik 3 stars is because every time I walk in the store I am not welcomed. There have been several occasions where I walk in to the store and the people at the desk just looked at me but not greeted. I know sometimes you don’t catch everyone which is understandable but as I went to the store this past Saturday I noticed I was not greeted again. A couple white women walked in after me and was greeted loud as every. Not to mention as I was shopping one of the young lady’s checking out kept side-eyeing me as if I didn’t belong. I’m not sure about anyone else but my money is green like everyone else. I also noticed when I was shopping the same lady made a remark as I was putting clothes back which I thought was rude but she didn’t know I heard her. If you don’t want black people to shop there just say that. Not feeling welcomed, on top of having someone watch me as I shop was not pleasant. I probably won’t be going back because this has happened too many times. I would rather spend my money where I am welcomed openly and not look at as mother black person you have to keep you eye one. Visited this store today, and was really disappointed! I live out of state but have frequented Cary St boutiques while I am in Va, visiting family. I have to say, I was treated very rudely by one of the employees. She ignored me when I came into the store, then proceeded to welcome other guests as they arrived. After asking several customers if they needed a fitting room, she finally approached me and asked if I needed one. I replied yes, as I was holding items in my hand. When I was ready to try on my items, she had given my dressing room away to someone else, and told me I needed to wait for the next available room. I waited patiently, only to be told ( as a few other women came up behind me) that they were ahead of me. They had not been waiting in line but 2-3 minutes. I had been in line for 10 minutes. I can't recommend the fab'rik in Carytown enough! Every time I wonder in the store I am helped with the best service. I can always find something for any occasion. The best part is the clothes are affordable and great quality. I have hosted two VIP parties with Sarah which were both a big hit with my friends. I can't thank Sarah enough for her help. Not only does she pull items I wouldn't have thought to grab, but she makes me feel so confident in whatever I may try on. She is a gem! The store has changed my shopping...
