This used to be a favorite go-to, however, the last three times I’ve been the service and the food have been sub-par at best.

Let’s start with the service. Why is it that if I sit at the bar literally nobody greets us for a solid 7-10 minutes (the last four times this happened)? When there are plenty of other patrons being spoken to, served, asked for drink refills, etc — why were we consistently overlooked and ignored. On all four occasions of late, sitting at the bar, my friends and I have had to flag someone down to ask for waters, not to mention drink and appetizer orders, refills, and last time even cutlery (AFTER our appetizer had arrived and was sitting there getting cold). And this has not just been one group of servers. This is consistent with all of the bar staff I have encountered on my last four visits (have not seen the same staff member repeated). One staff member behind the bar this past Sunday was visibly annoyed with anything and everything, obviously angry, and ignoring us. Another one, who seemed new, ignored my party as well and went on to ask people who got seated after us if she could get them food menus, as she brought them waters. My guest, in from out of town, and I were appalled and almost left. One young woman stepped up and took over for our angry bartender when we had to stop her mid-stomp off to ask if we could put in a food order, as we both had deadlines and had already been sitting there for 20 min without anyone asking for our order.

Then there was the food. Every time I’ve been I’ve ordered their famous Brussels sprouts. The last several times, they were sorely disappointing. Pipping hot, but lacking in the normal amount of the toppings and generally not edible (my guest took one bite and could not eat any more). The salad I got was lacking in flavor as well and my $9 salmon add-on was smaller than my half of avocado. It all sat there, waiting with me for the bartender for several minutes as I tried to flag someone down for salt — we had to leave soon, so sending it back for an appropriate sized piece of fish was not an option.

Our brunch tab was $70, I tipped $15 hoping that a nice tip would turn some attitudes around, but am doubtful and now regretful that I treated such service with over 20% kind of gratuity.

I will not be returning for some time, if ever. And anyone I know going will be verbally dissuaded if I can help it. This Richmond staple has become an utter disappointment. Four times in a...

Hands down the best restaurant I've dined at in Richmond. Food & Drink was adequately priced and the flavours were senational.

The hospitality was incredible as I was calling the restaurant as we were arriving to see if I could get a table for my dining partner and I. The hostess was so kind and helpful and she didn't miss a beat when I ended up arriving to the restaurant mid-conversation on the phone with her.

She told us she'd prepare a table for us while we waited at the bar. We ended up liking it so much at the bar that we stayed there. However, in the future I will probably sit at one of their tables because the bartenders were so busy making everyone's drinks that they couldn't be nearly as attentive to their patrons at the bar.

Not an issue, just an observation and so if you enjoy minimal communication with your server, I'd suggest sitting at the bar. The bartenders work very hard here and I was so impressed that my bartender was able to remember the hard orders that we gave to him.

The bar itself was beautiful with a very clean, upscale environmental friendly theme. It paired perfectly with their sophisticated cocktails that you have to try! These cocktails are incredible all around! I got the ExPat!

Beautiful trees adorn this dining establishment and makes the overall dining experience unforgettable.

We ordered the Spinach dip and at first we thought it wouldn't taste so good, but looks can be deceiving! This dip and soft bread were delicious. The combo was so yummy we considered getting another one!

I ordered the Salmon for my entree and I was shocked in awe as they were able to perfectly cool my blue rare salmon. I've never had a place execute this so perfectly on the first try! This place is out of this world! They even allowed me to make modifications to me food.

I was so happy when our food came and it was just as delicious as it looked! Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the portions and the variety of the menu here. I don't think you can go wrong with anything because everything...

My husband and I came in for Sunday brunch and I don't think they were expecting the crowd they had. With almost a 40 min wait, tables were free the entire time we were there. That should have told us they were short staffed right away. The staff was friendly, but missing for most of the meal. Our server took fifteen minutes to come over and take our order. We didn't see her again until my husband flagged her down to get the check. A food runner brought our meals. We never got refills on the coffee, which was okay since coffee wasn't very good and the sugar dish on our table was empty. The food was mediocre. It's not a lot of food, don't expect to take anything home. My husband quickly finished the power breakfast and said it was "okay." I had the eggs benedict and the ham was just a thin slice of deli meat which was a bit disappointing. The sauce was also missing some flavor. Both my parents are chefs so I grew up eating eggs bendict with home made hollandaise sauce. Something was missing or they were using sub-par ingredients. I "eat like a bird" so usually I can only eat half of an order but I was able to finish the whole thing (with most of it just being the bread). The eggs were just slightly overcooked, I've had much worse. The hash browns were good. Overall the coffee is terrible, but the cocktails (which we didn't get this time) looked good. The food was not good but not bad either. The servers were nice, but the service was lacking. With so many other good restaurants in Richmond we won't be going back. But, if a friend wanted to go, I would give it...

TLDR: The dinner items we ordered were fantastic. I wish we had stopped there. Dessert + drinks were *extremely* disappointing. Five stars for dinner items alone! We ordered a Buddha bowl (+ protein) and added a side of roasted sweet potatoes and extra tabbouleh to stretch the bowl to feed two. (Probably didn’t need to add the extra sides, we had leftovers). The beet hummus and chick peas were absolutely amazing. I need to get a recipe and put this dish in my monthly rotation. So. Good. The roasted brussel sprouts were tad more burnt than we normally like it, but a great dish nonetheless! Docking a star for dessert. (Normally we’d pick up dessert from a bakery or local sweet shop. But we had plans for the evening and wanted to get everything at one spot. Huge mistake.) We ordered the key lime pie and cheesecake. They both tasted like they’d been frozen for too long, and not properly stored. I tried to eat it because I didn’t want to throw $ in the trash. But I couldn’t make my way through it. Waste of $19. Docking another star for drinks. We ordered Arnold Palmers. The tea was warm and didn’t taste fresh at all. We got to-go cups and didn’t realize how bad they were until we got home to our rental. Otherwise I would have sent them back. I can’t believe I spent $10 on that. Yikes. The menu looked great, loved the variety and freshness of the food. We really enjoyed our dinner — but skip drinks + dessert!

I love this location and the open airy facility I just cannot say the same for the food. On a recent business day trip to Richmond I wanted to visit Carytown and try the vegetarian menus. The Daily K&B was suggested. My visit was on a beautiful sunny day so all of the windows and patio area were open allowing a comfortable breeze throughout the restaurant. The staff was great and my waitress was attentive as she could be considering how busy the patio became. I ordered the Vegetarian Burger which according to the menu was made with seeds, nuts and brown rice, all components that should make a great Veggie Burger. As a side I selected the sweet potato fries. I was hoping for a great lunch before I headed to the airport. Well unfortunately I need to say this was the worst veggie burger I have eaten in my 30 plus years as a vegetarian. Nothing tasted fresh, the patty was crunchy and mostly over cooked almost a burnt flavor. The burger was served on a simple small whole wheat bun, the lettuce and tomato lost all freshness. I wish I had the time to send back to the kitchen but the flight to Atlanta would not wait. Because of the location, facility I will try again, just not the veg burger, fortunately there are additional vegetarian options. I would love to read the other vegetarian dish reviews.
