Sugar & Twine — Restaurant in Richmond

Tasteful ambiance, quite quiet, laid back... and absolutely one of the most surprisingly enjoyable experience lately!! Service was great, ordered two black eyes, they were perfect temp, let it sit for maybe 3 mins and it was delicious, smooth, flavorful... I remarked at how surprisingly pleasant... wait though, because that was a warm up...As we sat down to eat our blueberry muffins and banana chocolate muffin, I had no idea what flavor eagerly lurked in perfect muffin goodness. The Blueberry muffin was solid, aesthetic on point, good crumbles, pretty standard flavor, nice bite. The banana chocolate muffin one bite and all I could say was "wow". . .. "wow".... another bite "wow". Out of this world, next level muffinry, without a doubt the best banana chocolate muffin this side of the Mississippi, possible top muffin of this dimension. The timelords will tell. So, obviously we went back and bought the last one as well as a pumpkin muffin which was also quite tasty, great texture and the seeds ontop are quite nice! All in all I have a new life's purpose and it revolves around muffins, so thank you, I'll see you soon, you might not see me, but if muffins go missing, there are stories of a legendary...

Stopping by Sugar & Twine when we’re in Carytown has become a tradition!

Right now, Sugar & Twine is offering a walk up window only, but soon they will be opening up a storefront for all to enjoy.

Other than that, the ambiance is the open street, complete with grass, buildings, and other people's adorable dogs.

Each and every time we visit, we’re greeted by a fast, friendly barista.

They offer a diverse menu of baked goods, from vegan coffee cake to the delicious cookies we like to enjoy.

My husband introduced me to their double chocolate cookie, which I order frequently.

These cookies are baked to perfection: they all have crispy edges, and tender centers.

My husband’s favorite is the snickerdoodle, which is a delightful cinnamon cookie.

As for the coffee, it’s excellent as well!

I generally order the vanilla latte, a sweet, creamy experience that pairs nicely with chocolate cookies.

We can’t wait until Sugar & Twine opens up for us to come in...

Sugar & Twine is the perfect local coffeeshop in RVA with seasonal drink specials (that fall seasonal syrup!), signature pastries (the almond horns are a must!), and the homey aesthetic that's often missing in larger chains. Their menu accommodates different dietary restrictions, including vegan and gluten-free, so I began using S&T for corporate catering events to meet a variety of dietary needs. After a few years of enjoying everything on their menu, I requested S&T cater the brunch after my wedding. As a surprise to no one, the entire brunch was incredible! We had guests spanning the entire east coast who marked S&T as a "must visit" the next time they're in RVA! I recommend the cheddar biscuits for savory-lovers and the raspberry bars for sweet-lovers. More so, I recommend saying hi to whoever is behind the counter helping you; they'll give you that right-at-home feeling that makes pastries taste...
