I never write reviews. Ever. But I had to be a girls girl and warn yâall, buckle up ladies. I left Adam Broderick with hair I could have done better at home and thatâs saying a lot... I was home for the holidays and away from my usual stylist so I stopped in here looking to dye my hair red again. I showed the colorist a reference picture of ME. My own hair from a few months prior. I picked a swatch and described that I didnât want super bright hair but I didnât want a berry color, I wanted my candy apple red. First of all, I was already blonde when I walked in. This lady covered my entire head in bleach to the ROOT and walked away. I was looking crazy. Foils nowhere to be seen. Then I sit up from the sink after the color was finished, girl. I was quite literally ronald mcdonald. The brightest, corniest red I had ever witnessed. I politely said it was looking a little bright, but she INSISTED not. I eventually convinced her and then she threw on a darker red over the mess. Stylists that I had never seen in my life started coming in and making snarky comments like âI REALLY liked the other one betterâ looking at me like I just disrespected their bloodline. So gross. Then I finally go over to the self-drying station (Lol) The girl next to me was extremely unhappy with her highlights and I had to agree with her, they were a wreck. We are standing there exchanging advice because we were so unhappy. My hair came out dark berry purple-red which is exactly what I told her I DID NOT WANT. To put the cherry on top, my side burns were still BRIGHT RED. Which was an insane contrast on the color the rest of my hair now was. I went to supercuts to get a trim after because I had to get out of there. (Still tipped 20%) The wonderful woman cutting my hair gasped while separating my layers. She said, and I quote, âI am not even going to say anything because you will be so upsetâ I was like girl no please show me! Turns out ronald mcdonald still lived in there because my layers were⌠my god I donât even have a word for it. Leaving picture proof. This sweet lady continues to say she gets horror stories from Adam Broderick constantly and she finds herself fixing their mess a lot. Left her chair extremely happy with my cut. By the way, tried to get a refund, they said NO. Went back to my usual girl recently and she said when I came in she thought I had done my hair at home. She was appalled any stylist could ever do that. DO NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL MESS YOU UP!! The worst hair experience I have ever had in my life and thatâs coming from a girl who changes her hair...
Read moreYounger person here who has a weekend job. I was hesitant to write a negative review and have been sitting on this for a few months but I feel like it needs to be said. I came in with a gift card for a FREE haircut (circulated by Adam Broderick at an event). It literally said âfree haircutâ on the front. I scheduled an appointment and got my haircut, making it very clear I was under the impression that I thought the haircut would be 100% free (both on the phone and in the store before my appointment). The stylist was wonderful, and I gave her a high tip, because I thought that the FREE haircut would be free. To my surprise, when it was time to âpayâ with my gift card I was told that I had to pay $20 because of âextraâ things they did to my hair, of which I didnât ask for and was not told was being added to my charge. I know it doesnât seem like a big deal, but spending 40$ was way over my budget for what was advertised as a completely FREE haircut.
I thought this was a unique experience, but someone from my school also was up-charged from their estimate without any communication (it was also much more than 20$). Iâm surprised that more people aren't talking about this! I feel like the lack of communication about prices is scammy and intentionally dishonest. Not to mention other nearby salons donât have this problem. At my most recent haircut at Whipped, the stylist thought I was crazy when I asked if everything she did was going to be extra to the agreed price, like a wash or product.
Since Iâm guessing a rep. of Adam Broderick will respond to this review, Iâm not writing this to fix an individual problem that happened to me months ago. I just want to implore the store to communicate better with customers and change the way they charge people so everyone knows what they are paying for from start to finish. Itâs a hair salon, not a car repair shop.
Mainly, I want to warn customers to make sure they know what they are paying for and agree on the final price beforehand so you aren't blindsided like I was. Or just go to...
Read moreSo I used to love this salon. In July I went and had a beautiful color and balayage done with some wonderful highlights. Had a wonderful haircut and couldnât have been happier. However, the highlights over time had gotten a little light and I wanted a slightly reddish darker color so I had asked two consultants before I made the appointment about what appointment to make, and they said single process with glaze.
Neither of the consultants that I had originally asked were available the day that I made the appointment and a color expert, which charged even more money than the two consultants that I had originally asked, was recommended to do my hair. I told her specifically what I wanted, which was to cover up some gray with a single process in the front portion of my hair, and to darken my bayalage by slightly higher shade with a red tint.
By the time that she was done with the color, I had a single process done through out the whole hair and no glaze, and all of my by bayalage highlights from the summer were completely gone. When I told the colorist and that this is not what I wanted, all she could do is defend her self, and take multiple pictures to defend herself to her boss. She was cocky and obnoxious, acting like I had never gotten my hair colored before. Whatâs more is that the color was also applied very sloppy with it running down the sides of my face and ear.
Worst of all is that then someone else did the blow dry, which was also very poorly done without any smoothness and then wanted me to pay extra for a blow dry. I have researched eight different salons in the last 24 hours and not a single salon tells you that you need pay for a separate blow dry after they do a color.
The salon sounds fancy, but they nickel and dime you for every service and then try to up charge you for things that could be done much more easy. I would never...
