Don’t go here. They don’t care if you get sick. I ordered lunch for myself and a coworker, the only ingredient we had in common was mayo but we both got sick from it. When I called to place an order again 2 weeks later I kindly asked the gentleman answering the phone to make sure the mayo was good because I got sick off of my lunch the week before. He responded by telling me that it was impossible that the mayo was bad because they use 14 gallons per week. Didn’t apologize that I got sick after having lunch at their deli. Nothing at all. Awful customer service, will not be going back.
EDIT: I see that the owner responded but I am unable to respond. The words "I'm sorry" or "I apologize" never came out of his mouth, because that would be admitting guilt and that is not something he was even remotely close to doing. The point being made that only two people got sick is insane, it took me two weeks to mention it in passing. you think others came running back to complain? no. they'll just stop going because if they do complain that the ingredients aren't fresh the owner will respond by telling you that it couldn't possibly be them. if you look a little further down there is another review that described "intestinal hell" after a sandwich. It's...
Read moreAs a local business owner — I run Rolling Suds of Fairfield–Westchester, offering power washing and roof washing services throughout Ridgefield and Fairfield County — I’m constantly on the go and always looking for great local spots to fuel up between jobs. Genoa Deli has become one of my absolute favorites in the area.
The sandwiches here are top-notch. Everything is fresh — from the bread to the meats to the house-made sides — and the portions are generous without being over the top. Whether it’s a classic Italian combo or one of their hot specials, you really can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of old-school deli that’s getting harder to find, with quality you can taste in every bite.
The staff is friendly and efficient, even when the lunch rush is in full swing. You can tell they’ve built a loyal local following, and it’s easy to see why. If you’re in Ridgefield and want a great deli experience that never disappoints, Genoa is the...
Read moreIt’s the tires of the dice. And don’t even try to call an order in. On more than one occurrence there was a communication problem. And they just hang up rudeness is second nature to some of the employees and the owner thinks it okay because mistakes happen once twice even three times but it’s more then that. Delivery arrives okay but they don’t put utensils and God forbid they give you a napkin. Enough said you’ve been warned. Just know their are other delis with better food...
