SoBol Ridgefield — Restaurant in Ridgefield

Ordered a bowl this morning via the website and totally forgot to hit the Almond butter button when selecting my topping options. But in the comment area, I stated to please add Drk Choc Almond butter. When I arrived approx 10 mins later, I got a look from the tall gentleman who always looks at me weird as if I dont belong. Suddenly, a young woman approached the counter and stated if she could assist me I stated I ordered and was present to pick up my order, she replied that She would have to charge me for the Topping, confused I had to replay what I did while ordering. I acknowledged my mistake and she was quite adamant to collect the fee for such topping. Turned off by the interaction I stated that I no longer wanted the bowl. My opinion, the approach could have been a bit more cordial. Being a different shade should not hinder the professional customer service one should receive when entering any establishment which serves the community in which I reside in. Very disappointed. This is the second time I’ve come into this location, I thought I’d give it another try but never again. For one I ordered a açaí bowl no bananas and add Nutella, each time all they do is remove the bananas and throw a small dollop of Nutella. There’s a reason I ask for no bananas, I don’t want the taste of it. As well if I ask for Nutella I’d like to actually taste it. The young man working there today was nice, it seemed he was doing most of the dirty work while the girls gossiped about their manager and other coworkers. Unfortunately (because I do love SoBol) I won’t come back to this location, but I would suggest that the manager or owner have a talk with their employees to put in the little extra work to make a bowl right instead of just removing something & call it a day. Maybe also keep the gossip away from the work...

SoBol was great! First time I tried this place and was very pleased with the quality of the ingredients, cleanliness of the store and simplicity of the menu. Didn't give them 5 stars because I was hoping for the acai bowl to be less "icey" and a bit more smooth... Also, a bit too much granola in the cup and not enough acai. Price point is right in line with the product and it was very fast service as well!...
