(9/12/17) UPDATE BELOW: Great speed. Horrible service. Still remember when they came to install service and how perplexed everyone seemed that I wanted wireless signal throughout my home and not knowing how to make that happen for me.
That didn't change about a year or so later when my router needed to be changed and they needed two teams to figure out how to make the new router work properly.
Called over the phone at some point last year to figure out how to get wireless throughout my home (at that point it was 2 years) and all they could offer was the rental of a range extender that I had to pick up and return when I learned better.
This month, they decided they weren't going to send me a bill and would just skip to a termination action notice. I'm NEVER late for ANY bill. I call immediately to pay over the phone. I say I want to pay the bill right away, they say they want to charge me a fee to run my card. I have another two weeks to pay so I figure I'll just have my bank auto pay (like I do every month).
Bank delivers check on Aug 24th and RTC disconnects me on 29th because they can't seem to process a check within 5 days of receiving it. I try to call their office because I was just disconnected during a very important task for work, and all I get is a busy signal.
Now I have to face my boss in the morning for something out of my control and due to RTC's failures?
Unacceptable.
UPDATE (9/12/17): After posting this review, I was contacted by RTC. They explained that, while they didn't cash my check yet, they did have on file that I paid and was not disconnected. I rushed to reset my router and everything was working again. During that call, I promised I would remove this review. However, I am a 24 hour locksmith and couldn't find the time till now.
Lisa from RTC called me today to remind me that I promised to remove my review. I apologized and explained that I was busy, and her tone changed...
" Good to hear you're busy, but we would really like that review removed"

What can I say? RTC is the best internet of my life. Hands down. My best friend has EPB fiber optics and he gets jealous of my internet sometimes.
In over 7 years I’ve only had 2 problems. One was no big deal, resolved in less than 15 minutes remotely. The other problem was today and a bit of a head scratcher but within 1 hour Scotty C fixed it and had us back and working online again!
I have consist speeds down and up. It’s absolutely amazing. When I first moved here and heard a company called Ringgold Telephone Company provided the internet I was nervous. Now I never want to move from this area. With as big as internet is these days, it’s a necessity and RTC has never let us down.

Read moreWhoever said that being a RTC customer is like throwing $ into a fireplace is an absolute liar plain & simple. I've been with them for 5 years and they are the best ISP in the northwest Ga area. And it's not even close. To be able to get fiber optics for $59.00 for 250/250 is incredibly cheap compared to garter & their 30dl mbps and 5ul mbps. Plus it's a dedicated line. I'm upgrading to the Gig today is the reason I'm writing this review. I also have a review that's 3 yrs old on Facebook and that's before they even had the Gig. You just can't go wrong with them. I will say that if you only NEED slow internet then by all means get it somewhere else. But most families have kids & multiple devices so the more bandwidth the better. No lag. Ping is around 3-4ms. And true FTTH/FTTP! Then to top it off they're local and they've been around for a very long time & you still get a human when you call their business not a robot....
