Absolutely used to love this Costco until today. My husband went shopping today, I was unable to come with due to me having COVID. Husband went to self check out and was stopped and asked to see the photo on our membership. Definitely was profiled due to them not asking three other people in front of him. My photo was on the card and they refused to let him purchase the items without me being there. The employee was VERY rude when explaining. He talked to the manager and explained I have Covid and didn’t want to put other people at risk. Manager did not care and said I still needed to be there for him to purchase the items even though he pays for this membership and it's under the same house hold. I did call and asked if there was any leniency due to me having Covid and not wanting to drive 20 minutes away. The manager still would not let him purchase the items even after I tried to explain the situation. He has used it before multiple times by himself with no issues. I understand there are rules with having a membership, but we were never told when purchasing this membership this would be a rule. I had to drive all of the way there just to stand in a long line to watch him purchase the items. Like he was a criminal or something. Manager saw I was there never approached us to apologize again for the inconvenience. Very poor customer service. It would have been nice to receive something in the mail with any membership changes. I will not be renewing my membership here. I only purchased the membership thinking it would be more convenient for us. I’ll just save that money and go with a family member and Venmo them after haha. If you guys are going to be cracking down on memberships maybe you should inform your customers. It's ridiculous either way the store would be making money even if it wasn't his face on the card. It looks like you guys have over 20 one star reviews with membership issues. Maybe this is something that needs to be fixed???!! If I could give 0...
Read moreI will never shop here. The self checkout employee was very rude. It could have been an easy conversation but she had to be rude and escalate to whole situation. She called over the manager which was not needed and he was rude. They both were not understanding at all. I will gladly take my business somewhere else. My mother in law was not able to walk through the store because of medical reasons also my sick baby was sleeping in the car and so I went in alone. They would not let me check out with my one item because my face was not on the membership card. I asked if I could FaceTime her and she could show she was in the parking lot. They strictly said no. Instead of nicely stating I couldn’t use the card… I got a whole dramatic run down. A manager called over. How embarrassing and rude can you be? They wanted me to sign up for my own membership and wouldn’t shut up so I could leave. It felt like I had stolen a bunch of merchandise and was gonna get the cops called on me…. Way over the top. I was a previous Costco member (however we live with our in-laws so we share food with them) it doesn’t make sense for us to have our own card. The rude lady Wouldn’t hand the card back. I finally had to ask if I could leave and took my card from the lady. I will never shop at this location again. I have other family and friends who also had problems with this location in particular. Several of which said they will never shop at this location again. Do better Costco. At least show a little empathy. This worlds hard enough as it is. Rude employees aren’t necessary. Maybe hire nice people? Or change your ego. (I would do zero...
Read more5 stars for Elliot!!!! This kind human saved me on what was such a horrible day for me. I just found out that l have cancer. I went to Costco for some basics and my little girl was having a meltdown right as we were checking out. There was a new employee that was learning and so check out was taking much longer than usual. My little girl has never started crying like that at a store. I assume she was sensing what was going inside of me. I went to pay and realized my main card for payment was gone so I had to use a different card that didn’t have enough on it. I couldn’t help it and started bawling myself. Elliot stepped in and paid for the remainder of my balance because I didn’t have enough. The other cashier sat there and wasn’t kind to me at all. She was simply doing her job. It seems so simple what Elliot did but customers were staring unkindly and had no idea what is going on in my life. Elliot has been amazing on numerous occasions and this was just one that meant more than he will ever know. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves for always being an amazing person which means Riverton Costco has an amazing employee. Going above and beyond in this world makes a huge difference in what is a small moment. Thank you Elliot! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about your kindness since I...
