I am very displeased. I took my stepdaughter in today to find her some jeans and maybe a purse for myself, and I was appalled by how I was treated in there by the employees I was walking around the store and was confronted by an employee telling me that I should not be in there as in in the store I’m not allowed. I said excuse me what and she repeated it again and another gal walked up to the register so all three gals were up there, staring at me. This was very loudly announced in the middle of the store. She asked me if my name was Amy, which I was still shocked that she confronted me loudly in my personal space like that, and I said excuse me no that’s not my name and as I was saying that they said well, what’s your phone number and demanded my phone number to look me up in the system. Now I could rattle off any phone number if you think about it and I guess I wouldn’t be Amy, but I gave them my phone number which it didn’t appear in there because I have a new phone number then I proceeded to tell the girl excuse me. Do you need to see my drivers license so I can prove to you that I am not this same person they had nothing really to say, and I was very upset, and I told them how disrespected and uncalled for that was that an employee should be doing that to anyone this by far is the most unprofessionalism I’ve ever ran into in any business and I have been in the retail business before Never should anybody be talk to you like that or approached assuming that they know anyone I put the purse back and told my daughter we will not be shopping there ever again. These girls...
Read moreWe went there on a family shopping trip on Sunday, April 9. We walked in and were greeted by 2 employees. They were friendly enough, I will say that. I also thought the store was more organized than its neighboring competitor. I was impressed with their shoe selection and the selection of larger sized items, items that people would actually want to buy. It shows they are more selective with their purchasing.
Upon entering we were told about a Buy 4 Get the 5th item free sale on that day. I am heavily into retail as a self-employed multi-store owner and if I ever tried to pull what they tried to pull on me, I would not be in business anymore. I had 6 items. A 12, a 10, a 10 a 10, an 8 and a 6. The cashier rung me out and told me I was getting the 6 dollar item for free. I asked her why I was not getting the 8 dollar item for free and she said that it didn't work that way, that your cheapest item was the free one.
I proceeded to explain that if I had only 5 items that my 8 dollar item would have been free and then my 6 dollar item would be a full priced item. She had trouble with this concept so I ended up asking her to do two separate transactions. This worked out the way it should have, but I feel it was a stupid test. I passed! I wonder how many other people had let this happen to them?
I will not shop here out of principle now. The one employee (who appeared to be in charge) was listening in, I saw her turn and look at me but she did not jump in to take part of the conversation I was having with the other employee. I...
Read moreI “discovered” Clothes Mentor a few months ago. I’d known it was there for a long time but had never taken the time to browse the store. Game. Changer. My body shape has changed significantly in the past nine months, and I’ve needed an entirely new wardrobe. Thanks to CM, I’ve been able to do it without going broke and looking great! I’d easily say 60-70% of my clothes purchased in the past six months have been from here. I’ve gotten some amazing deals, including my new favorite jacket. I’ve never received so many compliments on anything I’ve owned as I do when I wear this jacket. I’ve been able to purchase high quality clothes that I know will last a lot longer than from a fast fashion store, and I feel great knowing that I’m doing my part to not contribute to waste while helping out a small business owner at the same time. The staff has always been great when I’ve been in there, multiple times commenting on the great deals I’ve been able to find. Pro tip: find a day where you can dedicate some time to looking through your size items in detail, and then stop back every few weeks to check out the “new items” rack. This helps save you time by staying up to date on...
