Mayo Family Clinic Northwest — Local services in Rochester

Please call them prior to your dermatology visit and ASK about their "HOSPITAL FEE" or "FACILITIES FEE" I would NEVER recommend going to Mayo for Standard/Regular Dermatology visits due to their billing practices. Mayo Clinic Dermatology charges you the standard doctor visits fees for seeing a dermatologist HOWEVER they then double your bill for the EXACT same charges and charge you those visit fees but under a "Hospital" charge. My appointment was a normal, standard office visit and nothing special other than a normal waiting room with a computer. Had no clue about this "Hospital" charge. The bill literally has the same item charges for standard visit but they count this facility as a "hospital" so you'll see another bill for same charges but with "hospital". I thought this had to an error but nope, they count this place as hospital which is crazy. Even the billing person said there isn't a way for a consumer to easily know this. You can file a Patient Advocacy compliant but that went no where and they said their billing is accurate and you can request information about bills prior. Mayo has some of the best doctors but if you're going for a standard, regular dermatology visit, I wouldn't ever go there unless you want to pay double any other place. Hoping someone sees this and verifies this insane "hospital fee" prior to their visit so they don't get a giant bill for a standard dermo visit. Can't believe this is even allowed or at minimum they should inform the patient prior to them making an appointment about this facility being labeled and charged extra as "hospital" as a normal person's view of hospital visit...

current provider is Michael Stark, very hectic around the clinic thease days and everyone is rushed.. even myself and i forget to tell him symptoms all the time and i know he would do more if not limited by the company... that being said the inside part under my lower left wisdom tooth is broken and piercing my gum and its spinning and moving causing huge pain.. unfortunately this isnt a dentist office and the dentist i went too saw me 3 times and it wasnt open yet but hurt and have a letter from the dentist to see my primary... now that its hugely a problem... im going to bring legal action to the dentists and asked mr stark to write up a good report and he did.. the only bad part is i may wind up in the ER because scheduling wont call me 5star stark...

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Michael Stark , today I took my 14 month old daughter in to be seen, and this guy made mine and my daughter’s experience so much better then we’ve ever had at any clinic ( normally we’re seen at the southeast clinic, and no I’m not bashing them ) , mr micheal played with my daughter to keep her entertained while he did his job.
