Overall if I just need a cheap place to stay or are homeless... This is the place for you! Where do I begin?!?!
#1 owners were rude from the minute we walked in... Not very inviting or personable. They made sure to tell us multiple times that the pool was closed and not to have my "kids in there." #2 once to the room while walking thru the door, we immediately got smacked with the smell of cigarettes! 🤢🤮 Despite that, we really needed a place to stay so we settled in... Over doing an inspection, the mattresses appeared fairly new however EVER SINGLE piece of furniture was dated, chipped, broken, old, and scraped up... From the room to the bathroom. #3 hours later we noticed that the pool was IN FACT OPEN... So we went down. The set up was ok however we after getting in the hot tub we noticed how FILTHY it was... Dirty and dead skin particles filled the pool. I thought it was cloudy because of the bad lighting in the area or maybe the "pool paint" however it was clear that it was just disgusting. It really sucks because my kids love to go swimming. I should mention that the pool only goes up to about 4 feet so we were basically just walking around. In addition... There was already a family down there in the pool when we arrived. Upon entering the pool, taking our shoes off, setting down our towels and securing a seat, it wasn't 5mins before the husband came in. He rudely announced "only these pool towels!" CONFUSED, I asked "huh what do you mean?" He repeated himself and pointed to a shelf of smaller towels and included "only these! No room towels only pool towels, dry off and leave them here! No pool towels in room!" 🤦🏽♀️😂 At this point, I was weirdly annoyed since he made it a point to only tell me and my kids, walking past the family already in the pool. (I'll consider that he may have already told them) We did as we were told, got out the pool and hot tub and went back to the smokey room. #4 When I booked the room I called to make sure that they had a shuttle bus to and from Mayo Clinic since my disabled son had several appointments over the next few days. Owner confirmed, Yes they do. That afternoon after checking in, I requested a ride for the next morning. That morning after breakfast I confirmed again( we had 2 different appointments that day). They completely dropped the ball and didn't have anyone available to take us back. I ended up getting an Uber and was late to my son's appointment! #5 at this point, I'm tired of typing but there was another rude incident during breakfast... Also let me add that the same ol sausage eggs and potatoes that everyone has complained about in previous reviews, WAS STILL COLD AND RUBBERY🤦🏽♀️😠.
In conclusion... Don't bother staying here unless it's your only option. I'm sure there are other hotels with better nicer and less rude employees/owners!!!
In addition to the filth, the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS THEEEEEEE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! As we were checking out, 2 other groups of people complained of torn towels, smokey rooms, cold food, stains on the blankets, cold showers, and the pool being closed while they were there (prior to us).
They deserve ZERO STARS NONE NADA ZERO ZILCH...

The front entrance was dimly lit and it wasn't easy to see if it was even open. The inside of the hotel was extremely old and run down. The snack area consisted of a vending machine with very little products; it was adjacent to what used to be the pool area (now drained and closed). The morning breakfast room was very poorly maintained. We did not dare try the tray of eggs which looked like Jello in water. Our room followed the outdated trend. When we opened the door, it smelled like rotting musty water; we opened the windows to air it out. I noticed the sheets on the bed were reversed, so that the seams were facing outward on the fitted sheets. I ironed the bed sheets in case they were re-used. The pillows were old and lumpy from overuse and the pillow cases had an aroma of hair (I had a pillow delivered for my stay from the local Target). The lamp shades were cracked and broken, but still on the lamps. I noticed dust throughout the room on the arms of the lamps as well as in the bathroom around the sink and on the tissue holder. The bathroom sink was severely clogged; water would not drain for at least 30 minutes. I do give the owner credit for fixing the sink, but it should not have been clogged to begin with. The back of the bathroom door was patched and painted. The phone on the nightstand was from the 1980's and yellowing old. Our first night there the guests above us were up all-night pounding and running; we had to call the front desk to have them resolve the noise. I originally asked for a different room, but that request could not be fulfilled. We also reserved the medical shuttle the night prior, yet that request was not communicated and there was no driver the following morning, so we had to call an Uber. This occurred throughout our stay. We couldn't cancel the reservations at this point and were there for medical reasons, but I will never stay at this hotel again. I know the economy is rough, but there is no pride taken in this hotel at all. It is old, dirty, run down, and just flipped for...
Read moreI rented the room thru Priceline. Hotel is nice, but basic. Overpriced for what it is! Shuttle service to Mayo Clinic was not good. I am disabled & no help received from shuttle driver. Driver complained about gas prices & people wasting his time/trips? (This was the hotel owner with a mini van). Hard to get money back for parking when shuttle was not available. Needed it for gas to return home & they were uncooperative. English comprehension was a barrier with the owner/employees?? Shuttle service not recommended for handicapped/ not wheelchair accessible!! Breakfast was good. Hot tub is handicapped friendly/pool Is Not!! No Pets Allowed, but, screaming kids are?? I have 2 registered companion dogs that I "usually" travel with. NOT allowed!! There Mayo Clinic rates are to high for what you get. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who is disabled/handicapped. Services are to limited for assistance! I went to Mayo alone & would not stay here again due to hotel policies & handicapped assistance. Check out other accomodations first, rooms/services are to basic for $$$. Not Recommended, only for emergency last resort stay! P.S. What you are not told ahead of stay. You can't take shuttle to Mayo the day of appointment. Need to check in 1 day early & pay for room. Must sign up for shuttle by 6pm on night before, no same day rides. Even if emergency issue! Shuttle only holds 3 people & not handicapped friendly! (Front desk clerk drive the minivan??) Can't even leave vehicle in lot prior to check in & take public transportation to Mayo. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! OVERPRICED FOR THE SERVICES!! Would not even rate 1 star! Sheets were...
