Nostalgic Dwelling — Local services in Rockford Township

Incredible place that I’m happy to have in Rockford. Pretty much a must stop if you’re in Rockford for the weekend. Great Mid Century and Post Modern period furniture, as well as rugs, art, and some great knickknacks. The furniture in here changes often bc of its popularity, so if you find something you like while you’re there, jump on it. This stuff does not last, and the quality here is fantastic. Owner was a very nice woman who seemed surprised I knew the materials and designers of the pieces they had here! (No fault of hers, I really don’t look the part). Haha! Overall, this store is set up like a gallery, not a furniture store, and I found that calming and respectful towards the craftsmanship of the furniture. It’s a well thought out space, and all too often you see this furniture placed out of its element for sale. I appreciated the thought of the store, very cool.

What a wonderful store and such an awesome experience during my first visit and purchase! When I walked in the first time I said "I feel like I'm home." The carefully curated and gorgeous 1960's-1970's furnishings reminded me of the households of my youth. I purchased a delightful sofa bed from the Brady Bunch era, which the owner and her crew delivered for a surprisingly modest fee just a few days later. I couldn't be happier. Such an awesome shop! Everytime I visit I am blown away at how they’ve managed to have SO many good things lol. Seriously excellent curation of art, home goods, textiles and lamps, and super cool vintage furniture, all at a variety of price points which I really appreciate. Owners are super friendly and helpful! Lucky to have a shop of this quality...
