Rockford Career College — Local services in Rockford Township

I completely do not recommend this school for their ultrasound Sonography program. 2 of the 3 teachers at this institution are extremely unprofessional and feels the need to cut down students when their having a bad day. The equipment is extremely outdated and the teachers will blame you if the equipment is broken (the previous head of the department early on in the program blamed me and another student for breaking a transducer even though we told her we never dropped it).

From the last cohort Sept 2024, only 7 students of 21 students passed. The other students that did not pass the teachers told us to not come back (the president however told us we were welcome to retake the class but no one felt comfortable with the teachers).

If you want to go into sonography, I recommend trying your local community college or going into another program at this college. In addition, this school is only accredited in abdomen, while most community colleges are accredited in abdomen and vascular.

I will say the positive is the principal and VP are really nice and take your concerns very seriously. I also talked to a few admins and they were really kind and upset with what happened to our cohort. I think other programs at this school would be more professional and organized than what...

I was incredibly disappointed at Rockford's Sonography program and professors. I attended the Sep 2024 cohort program and out of 21 students only 7 students moved on to the next classes. This highly reflects on the professors and structure of the program. About a month or two after starting the director retired leaving us without a director. Open lab was available with no lab professor assisting. Robin one of the professors simply dismissed any liability of her teaching methods. The president and newly hired dean at that time tried to remediate the problem, but the new sonography director Mital and Robin the professors simply made it impossible for students to feel confident enough to give it another attempt. Overall very disorganized program not enough hands to teach correctly and very dismissive attitude and not encouraging at all. Also the classes that I had taken were not accepted at my local community college since Rockford is not recognized as a regional accredited college. All the investment into this program felt like a failure to both wanting a career change and was a great financial setback for myself. Please contact the director or ask to speak to students to see if the sonography program has evolved before applying there. Best advise I can give to...

HORRIBLE SCHOOL! DONT DO IT! this school is the most unprofessional school ive ever encountered! the entire school is a joke. teachers get fired all the time and they hire new ones and throw them in and they have no idea what they are doing and are not professional by any means! they talk about hooking up with students and drinking and other unproffesional stuff for a instructor to discuss with their class. the admissions reps get fired all the time so you never know who your supposed to go to for questions.financial aid never answers the phones or gets your paperwork right. the admissions director dates a program lead, so that program gets the most enrollment push. NOT FAIR! the president is a joke and just looks like a complete idiot any time you talk to him. hes worked at two failed colleges already. programs are way over priced and keep going up.
