My husbands mother recommended this place, so we decided to give it a shot for a first time visit. The place is very nice and their greeting was welcoming, however for our over all experience we both agreed they deserve a 1 and a half out 10. This is why:
The server was nice, yes, but she took way too long to stop by again to refill our drinks, checking up on us, and even after we needed to pay. For example, so long, it felt like we were forgotten, so long that another server that has been passing by us a few times, saw my husband swinging the receipt with his card and decided to just take it.
I decided to have this "Cheese Dip" for appetizers and don't get me wrong I liked it, but there was an unknown substance when I lifted another chip. They took it away, but they never came back for a new one.
My husband ordered 2 Quesadillas with beef and cheese, but it was waay too greasy and he didn't like the beef. In our opinion, that's saying something, because he only likes all kinds of beef. I tried it to see if it's just his tastebuds, but I didn't like it either and I love a lot of food. The cheese was good though, so it saved it a bit.
My husband didn't know the Quesadillas were gonna be big in the first place, so we had hoped they would take the second one away and not charge us, because he didn't like it the first time. The server is a sweet girl, but she went to go ask and came back saying they couldn't do that nor replace it with just a cheese quesadilla. Of course she offered for the manager, but since it was partially his fault for underestimating their food size, we let it go.
I ordered the "Burrito de Asada", I believe is the accurate name, but the meat was burnt on my first bites, but it got better after that, so overall it was good.
I'm not saying not to go there, but I know it's definitely our first and last time and will not recommend it.
He told his mother about our experience and she failed to mention that they failed her today too lol
Just be cautious of what you order and how much you think you can eat. I hope you have a better experience...
Read moreDon't usually write reviews but since this is an experience that I hope no one else has maybe the business learns from it. This is the second time with the customer service worse than the last. The food is great but customer service is number one... This business is not equipped nor possibly values the event of such a special day , my mothers birthday (no there was no one in the background dying) just negligence on behalf of the waiting staff & business as they new in advance we were coming. Our poor waiter he was on his own to serve a reservation in advance of 30. I hope this business understands that on a weekday when most of my mothers children , great -grandchildren grandchildren set a gathering after a hard workday it is because it is special.. No I want nothing free nor the attention, only some assurance if I ever set foot in that restaurant I'm guaranteed proper service. I know how it is to work at a restaurant first hand as my parents operated & owned theirs locally for several years.. Everyone at the table was served but my mother & yes I was also not served & if I were sitting somewhere else possibly I would have not seen it but it was in my face. Wrong & negligent the wait staff never asked if we were celebrating anything only the notion of this is a big party & lets give it to this guy.. Nope no tip on my end although I felt it was not the waiters fault but if it is bad service it should recognized at as such.. Me & my entire family work hard for a living & a treat like this does not happen every day!! This message is for you Mexico Classico when it comes to your hard working paying customers in a large reservation group that make your business YOU definitely need to reevaluate your definition of customer service & I left because I have zero tolerance for this as it was never forgiven by the hard working paying customers by my parents...
Read moreFood is good. We really like the warm chips and their salsa is delicious. I wish they had more vegetarian selections (like a veggie chimi, I asked to have my veggie burrito deep fried but they said no. The burrito was more like a big enchilada so that could be why), a veggie combo plate, some sort of veggie taco, perhaps avocado in the enchiladas. Anything, really.. more vegetarian!
The thing that really bothers me is that they don't chop their veggies for things like burritos and enchiladas. It seems to me that they chop veggies for fajitas and use those in everything in those big chunks and it kinda ruins the dishes.
I really like the rice, black beans and the refried beans (they told me the refried beans don't contain lard, but oil).
Edited to add this in Sept 2024:
We stopped in for dinner and I had asked if the chimi could be made with black beans instead of beef or chicken and they said yes, they made it and it was delicious so I was excited to have that to order. I tried to order it again and I was told no, they can't do it because the beans would fall out... they didn't fall out when they did it the first time so I have no idea why that was said so now we are in search of a Mexican place to eat that can accommodate changes to certain things to work for me as a plant based diner. So, we really like the food but it isn't a place that is willing to make substitutions. I'm...
