When me and Alex reviewed my roof together he gave me a rough estimate of 25k and I told him if I’m paying that much I’d like a total redo so I don’t have to worry about my roof for a while. I asked how much extra is that? He said probably 5k more. So when I received the quote for 30k I assumed it was with total replacement as that is what we had discussed and I had requested. I reached out to go ahead and do it. I must of thought I already read thoroughly through the contract and that’s on me. However after they started tearing down my roof and they start adding more fees to the tune of almost 7 k because it was rotten underneath. This is when I realized they weren’t doing a total replacement and so I was frustrated with the added expense. Especially since it’s still not a total replacement after 37k. There was one siding specifically that had been leaking and was swelled, warped and bowing out so I asked multiple times if it was being replaced. I was told yes multiple times. Then I noticed as they were wrapping up it still was still not replaced. They then told me they never intended to replace it which was concerning for me based on its condition and what I had been told… but they went ahead and did it for me after multiple requests. They never sent me pictures proving the rotten roof until after work was done. When I finally saw the pictures it just looked like tar used on the flat roof. They cracked both my tube lights putting them back in but they are old and need to be replaced so I did not complain or let them know. Though they dropped one in the process and probably noticed for themselves. The manager was not happy with the way they put on the primer. They DO NOT paint only prime! But it looked sloppy. I appreciated that he saw that and wanted it redone. I also noted that one of the roof boards in my garage was not nailed down and still jiggled after completion and it would need to be secured. They told me a date they would be coming to look at it but showed up on another day. There was some miscommunication with their staff or someone because they came while I was on a business trip with my husband and my two kids were home alone. I have never gone out of town without them so they were nervous when someone kept knocking on the door and then going in our back yard. My kids were calling me as they were hiding what they considered valuables thinking someone was about to break and enter. I had to walk out of my meeting and as it was a weekend no one from the Roof Recovery would pick up except someone in the office who could not verify if it was them or not. I also have a protective german shepherd that has and will bite and could’ve been in or back yard. Thankfully he was in the house because this lady just walked back there with what looked like her 13 year old daughter and then left the gate wide open when they left. If my dog were back there or my kids let him out after without noticing the gate he could’ve escaped. They also took a rock out of my yard that my son and his father found years ago on a trip we have been meaning to crack open and is too large to keep in the house. I assumed they were using it to hold down debri from flying and should’ve said something when I saw it on the trash pile but never assumed they’d just throw it away. It was kept in the front of our bush as a rock in our yard. My husbands grandfather made money collecting rocks and mining so my husband has a good eye for things others may not notice. That rock has been with us since our last house at least 10 years. They also threw old roof boards in my neighbors tree and left them after my neighbors mentioned it to the roofers twice. The overall appearance of the roof is okay but even after re priming there is a spot that you can still see wood I’ll post a pic of. I asked for proof of roof completion for insurance and was told they’d email it to me but they never did. They also told me to go to the city myself to get copy’s so it felt like they were done with me and the...
Read moreI had a water spot on a ceiling in my house so called roof recovery to do an inspection. The tech who came out spent over an hour on the roof pulling up tiles and inspecting and I figured he’d tell me I needed a new roof! Instead, he informed me that there was some dry rot that needed replacing, 27 broken tiles, and very dirty and clogged valleys (but no roof replacement, thank God!) I had no idea that you should have your valleys cleaned and roof checked but their two man crew worked tirelessly for three days and the difference was amazing- they give you before and after photos which are pretty amazing! A few days after they had finished I was washing my solar panels and normally I would have some water dripping down the tiles into the gutter but now the water collected in the new valley and poured into the gutter like a waterfall- the difference was really amazing! Honestly, I never knew what a “roof valley” was or what happens when they get clogged but now I know and will have them inspected every few years or so. I hadn’t been on my roof so had no idea that I had missing and broken tiles and roof recovery repaired or replaced everything for a very fair price- these guys are great! I had to have some solar panels moved before they could do the job and they worked with my schedule, started when they said they would and finished in a matter of days. The two workers who did the job worked from morning till evening and really did a fantastic job- I would use this company again in a heart beat! If you are having issues it don’t know anything about roofs (like me) it would be absolutely worth it to use roof recovery to do an inspection and complete any necessary work. Jesse always responded immediately to my texts and all in all it was a wonderful experience working with roof recovery.. they are definitely worth...
Read moreI personally have delivered customer service for my customers and clients for over 38 years. And there are those who deliver and those who don’t. In this case Roof Recovery Delivered. A ceramic tile had fallen from my roof and broke. It appeared to be a fairly simple roof repair and being handy I figured I would handle it myself. The challenge, being a 30 year old home I first had to find the right style tile and then I also was going to need to cut that tile so it would fit in the correct location as it was an edge piece. Having a hard time finding the correct tile and knowing I didn’t have the right tool to cut the tile, I finally reached out to 3 different roofers all of which had minimum fee’s all above $300.00. I’m please to say one of those I called was Roy Lopez, a field Technician at Roof Recovery. Even though they had a minimum fee as well, once he looked at the job knowing he could knock it out fairly quick, he offered to do the job himself - free of charge. Having worked in the outdoor retail and wireless industries in past years, I myself have been able to deliver customer service such as that a few times, but never have I personally been on the receiving end of Customer Service like that in my lifetime. It wasn’t just the service, but it was the overall experience. Anyone else could have easily taken advantage that I had a need and they had a minimum fee. In this case, I got an honest and professional person that was willing to take care of my problem without taking advantage. With all that is going on in the world this particular gesture of good will was more than impressive and even restored my faith a bit that people like this still exist. (Thank you Roy). Should you or anyone you know need any roofing repairs, I highly recommend using Roof Recovery hands down! Neal...
