Trying to be considerate, I’m leaving a three star review as I was not actually able to shop at the store due to a closure that was not made known on their voicemail which meant I drove over two hours to find a locked door... That and their zero tolerance mask policy, still somehow in effect during the spring of 2023, combined with the Biden/Harris sticker prominently placed on the door, let me know that this disabled minority would have the usual humiliating fight on my hands to be allowed to exercise my right to shop without suffocating and endangering myself and my infant, a battle in which I’ve grown weary over the years.
Appalled but still hoping to support a small business, I chose to peruse their website, hoping that maybe I’d find the violin of my dreams to which I was hoping to upgrade after a years long search- sadly, I found the instruments to be lacking and overpriced for some of the makers.
This decided me to do some shopping around and eventually I took my money online to Fiddlershop, out of sunny and free Florida. The customer service was second to none, they made a video for me comparing violins so I could choose one and, long story short, the violin I’ve been waiting twenty-five years for is on its way to me as I type this. I’m happy to have spent my thousands at a shop that exercises common sense and isn’t so invested in political virtue-signalling (which goes directly against basic medical science) and control that they are willing to force their misguided beliefs on others including the disabled.
I pray they are released from the fear that is holding them hostage and choose to be more welcoming to all manner of clients as I’d be happy to try them again for accessories and luthier services or a potential upgrade later on. For now, I’m happy I got an INCLUSIVE straighforward shopping experience at a phenomenal value with Fiddlershop. So, thank you for your unintentional steering me away,...
Read moreBrought my guitar in on 7/22/22. I’ve known from day one about the scamdemic and was shocked to see everyone inside wearing the 95% masks. Sorry to see people deprive themselves of oxygen which is a great immune booster and breathing in Co2 does more harm. But for the last 2 years i’ve played along by wearing masks when needed and avoiding jabs waiting for more data to reveal many truths. I’m sure these folks are great at what they do but health /medicine is not their forte and trying to impose that on others is simply ignorance. After walking around a bit the older gentleman said “you need to wear a mask” then walked away. I paused for a moment knowing I didn’t have a mask in my car and they had none to offer thinking that I should just leave then an older woman asked me how she could help. If I go back there I will certainly have a mask handy to satisfy their media driven fear. I pray that they are not getting boosted knowing the potential harm from that. I’m not going to ding their rating and will simply appreciate what they do for the music community and artist who rely on quality experienced luthiers. Thank you Woodsound Studio for bringing your talents to...
Read moreI brought in my violin to have the strings replaced in hopes to finally learn to play. I anticipated it being brought into a back room where the job would be completed out of sight and I would know little more than I did when I walked in, but instead I was offered so much more! The owner walked me through the process and empowered me to change my own strings in the future. I learned so much in that brief time and it was evident that he wanted me to succeed in my endeavor.
I read many of the negative reviews before taking the 40 minute drive, and I am glad that I had the sense to build my own impression - they were good people, committed to what they do and it’s probably safe to say they’ve been doing it a long time. There was immense attention to detail during my visit.
As a side note, they have a lovely selection of instruments, some of which I’ve never seen in other shops throughout the state. Support your local music stores because they’re getting harder and...
