I love the meats they have there. The deli is comprable to most grocery stores with boars head. Cashiers and workers are all helpful and nice. Has a hometown feel. But.. dont go there within an hour or hour and half of closing, the deli, seafood, and meat section is always packing it in around that time and it seems like they hate when you come around that time. I dont mean 5 min before they close, about 45 min before they close at best. I went in once 45 min before closing on a Saturday, wanted a steak and fresh shrimp. Asked for the shrimp, they walked out from behind the counter, to the frozen island behind me and picked up a bag of frozen shrimp packaged by a big company for retail sale in the frozen isle, cut it open and tried to charge me the fresh shrimp price. Idk if they do that all the time or what. If I wanted that, I would have picked it up...I was very put off by that and the attitude I have gotten any time I have been there within 1&1/2hours of closing. Its not like they are open until 11 12 or 1 am. They stay open until 9pm at best. I like the store and fresh items. But they seriously need to work on the...
Read moreYounger girls at the front desk could use some customer service skills and how to respect others. Ashley at the front desk is extremely rude, intimidated and snapped at a elderly customer, and the manager Chris did nothing about it, not even an apology. This Ashley employee should be fired, I have heard numerous other complaints about her attitude. It’s astounding how some of the younger generation disrespect the elderly, but one they will be older and this behavior will come back to them and they will be treated even worse. It’s called being entitled, and some of the employees there including the manager have no class or people skills. Good thing about being a registered nurse, working in the hospitals and having a fiancé who is a doctor, is that we know MANY people and our review of West side is spread to many civilians including our patients, hope that won’t be such a BIG lose on customers at West side, good luck! 😁 By the way I have found plastic in my sushi and hair in ...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite grocery store, but not any longer. I should have known when the self checks appeared that things were going to get worse, and my trip here yesterday confirmed my fears. One of the selling points of West Side was their butcher shop, always staffed by friendly, knowledgeable people. Not this time. My husband asked for a couple of things, only to be pointed at the case of prewrapped meats. The staffers were busy discussing which of them would be working on Fathers' Day, and none of them were people we recognized from previous visits. The meat that they did package...six chicken thighs...turned out to be five chicken thighs. Makes it hard to ration them for three diners. We stood in line for quite a while to check out, since there were only two registers open and the rest were the dreaded self checks. It used to be worth paying their high prices because of their excellent quality and service. Without the quality and service the reason to shop...
