CSA review -
I've been really enjoying the CSA so far but I just had an encounter that's soured me on this forever and I cannot recommend this CSA for anyone with a busy life. As a quarter share member, we do pickup every other week. Unfortunately, I had an emergency on Sunday and missed pickup. The contract states that if you miss a pickup, you just don't get anything. That's a bad policy. The farm could offer pickup on another weekend, a voucher for the market or kitchen, or a tax receipt for the pickup items that were donated. There's a list of items sent out, so you know the approximate value of goods, but honestly I would have been happy with just a pint of blueberries. I've been a member of CSA's that have offered more flexibility and feeling of community when something happens. After all, CSA holders take on the risk of a bad harvest year and help sustain the farm, so why not offer a small courtesy? I get why I couldn't do my pickup after the fact, but I would have appreciated the smallest amount of understanding or at least a kind word. If you're a busy mom, care for a parent, have a demanding job, please consider...
Read moreBy far the worst experience my family has ever had at a pumpkin patch. We were extremely optimistic ans excited to visit this farm. That was a mistake. The lines were outrageous. We waited an hour fir the kids to play in corn for 10min. I waited an hour for water only to be told they were sold out and I had to get into another line to wait another 30min for water. We waited an hour in line to get to the peddle bikes and after counting the bikes and people realized we'd have to wait at least another 2 hours to ride them. Unacceptable. This was supposed to be a fun family outing and it only left our family angry and disappointed. Kids crying and sad and now that we wasted $130plus dollars we can't even make up for it by going to another pumpkin farm....
Read moreI live and work very close to the farm and I'm constantly stopping by. The owner and staff are very helpful. I had an issue with a plant that I had bought and they were more than helpful. Their flowers and produce are beautiful and great quality. Not to mention the prices can't be beat. They sell a local dairy farm's ice cream, growth hormone free and delicious. I find myself stopping by frequently to get a sundae after work. They offer a farm share program which is a great way to get a bulk amount of fresh, locally grown produce. I'd highly recommend Fair Weather Acres. You can't get products or service like this...
