This arena is not ready for prime time.
Went this evening to see AEW Dynamite. This will have been my 6th time seeing AEW live.
They have metal detectors. They were not using them. Lines backed up way into the parking lot. They are S-L-O-W-L-Y using a handheld wand on everyone and let me tell you, this sets the mood for the evening. The crowd is not enjoying how slowly security screenings are happening.
Ordered a grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato at the concession stand. No lettuce. No tomato. Bottled water is not cold.
My friend ordered Nachos with Salsa and Jalapenos. No salsa. Barely any cheese on the nachos. Bottled Pepsi is not cold.
There is no cell signal in the facility. No ATT, No T-Mobile, no Verizon. They have a guest wifi network but it was completely overloaded and if you did connect to it, there was no internet at all.
Go back to a different concession stand, get a bottle water. They take the cap off (gross, don't touch my drink, my lips go there) and throw it away. I asked for a different one as I wanted the cap. They told me they can't give me the cap. I tell them the other stand gave me the cap. They said "oh well". Sure enough, some lady going down the aisle kicked over my water and it spilled everywhere. Waste of $4.00
There are ZERO screens in the arena. Zero. This is the first time I have ever been to an arena that didn't have screens for the performance to pipe their feed to so you could see what was going on. So people were standing up. This made other people in the crowd mad and hostile. Yelling ensued, and I legitimately almost saw a fight break out over people standing up blocking the view. People were NOT happy about this.
Going back to the original concession stand for another bottle water (they gave me the cap again) and the POS system crashed. The guy just said "It's your lucky day" and just gives me the bottled water for free. I guess makes up for the one the lady kicked over.
The only restroom on the floor level ran out of paper towels. The trash cans were not emptied during the performance and after 5 hours, there were paper towels everywhere.
On the other hand, getting in and out for parking was simple.
It's literally right next to a sewage treatment plant so when you go outside, it reeks of sewage. So that's nice.
I really hope AEW doesn't go back to this venue. It's too far outside of Houston for such an extremely...
Read moreI know this place is still knew, but the entire process of parking will make me try to avoid attending any events here anytime in the near future. It is very disorganized! It took us over an hour to get in the gate because of the slow payment process of getting into the parking lot. We were late to the our event, even though we had arrived at the property over an hour before it was supposed to start. Get faster credit card processing equipment! This will expedite the process of getting in tremendously! The venue itself is aesthetically beautiful, but the sound system is horrendous! I think they must have run out of money for audio equipment. They had tiny speakers for such a large venue. We literally could not hear or understand anything that was being said. Another gripe I had was at the event we went to they only had one concession stand open and the line was slow and long. Myself and many others I witnessed passed on purchasing concessions due to the length of the line. I did not want to have to wait in line for another extended period of time, especially after already having to wait over an hour just to get to the parking lot. What? While we were I did notice an upcoming MMA event that I would have usually shown great interest in attending, but due to the whole parking debacle I wouldn’t even consider going. Please fix these issues! Time is money and you all are going to lose a lot of money if they are not resolved. I really do want this to work. This venue has a lot of potential. I will try again in several months and hopefully the kinks will...
Read moreWe came for the Lamar graduation and I double checked online to make sure strollers were allowed for our 9 month old. We had to park all the way at the back side area and pay $5 for parking, mind you, it’s 90+ degrees that day. We took our baby out and put him in the stroller and walked to the front. When we got to the front, a woman stopped up and said there are no strollers allowed. I stated, I checked the website and it states that there is stroller parking. She then informed me that that is not true and they have changed it to where no strollers are allowed since someone’s stroller was damaged. Our options were, walk back to the car and put the stroller up then walk all the way back with the baby and hopefully make it on time to see our nephew. They had already started calling names and he is within the first group. We ended up missing him walk trying to put up a stroller that their website says is allowed! We then left after missing him walk so we paid $5 for nothing! Completely disappointed with their outdated policy! This needs to be updated ASAP! Will not be returning here. Way too much of a hassle and mis...
