AIR CONDITIONER BROKEN

My first visit to this establishment. I walked in and it felt like outside. There were two huge fans blowing but it surely needed to have the air fixed. The young lady fixing the food in the back looked so miserable and surely was unable to smile through that heat. I almost wanted to go and buy a fan just for her.

The cashier was very nice she explained the menu and provided samples of the chicken crackling. It was MAGNIFICENT AND SEASONED SO WELL. I literally ordered a 1/2 pound of it. It seems like it is cooked to order with a seasoning and oil in place. The batter on those chicken crackling will make you slap someone.

The boudin seemed old and it had no seasoning. I literally took two bites and threw the rest away. I am originally from New Orleans but has also lived in Baton Rouge and frequently eat boudin and crackling. I was very disappointed. They were out of SMOKED boudin and BRISKET boudin. I ordered the spicy boudin and honestly it had no spice I almost wondered if they gave me the wrong boudin but I made no fuss about it.

There was a gentleman who was outside taking a break but then he came back in to serve the guest. He was very nice and surely was helping everyone in all of that heat. It is hard to keep a smile on your face for guest with the heat inside and trying to cook

I would like to suggest uniform shirts maybe because everyone clothes were not that great. PRESENTATION IS EVERYTHING and I believe the owner should take more pride in the establishment and workers.

There is also a bar set up to the left of the store and there was also a fan there as well.

Mostly everyone was getting the gumbo so I assume it must be great. I really want to try to give this establishment another chance.

Update to Mr Larry response I ordered the Spicy but I believe they served me mild because it had...

Been on my list of places to visit, glad I did! My friends were a bit suspicious with the location (just because it's next to a gas station and what looks an abandoned car was very visible from wehere we were sitting), but i assured them the place is safe and has great reviews! The service was impeccable, I didn't get his name, but the man who served us was very accommodating and kind. When we first came in at 11 ish, he immediately informed us that he just put in oil in the fryer and will be ready in 30 mins. We didn't mind waiting so we stayed and ordered anyways. He gave us samples of the gumbo before we finalized on the order, stating that he want to make sure that it's something we would like first, which was very nice. We got the gumbo, fried okra, brisket filled mac and cheese balls, crawfish potato salad, crawfish boudin and beef (or pork?) boudin. My friends and I loved the gumbo and fried okra the most. The fried okra was fresh and not covered with too much flour like most restaurants. The gumbo was flavorful and perfect for the rainy weather. The boudin, especially the crawfish, was so good as well. Again the servers were very friendly and accommodating. Food were very tasty and fresh and prices were reasonable. As soon as we sat down to eat, people started coming in every few minutes, so its a good sign that people really love the place! Glad it's only 5 minutes from me! Will...

I was told the food was good from a person like Mikey eats everything good or bad, I ordered inside to take out, drove 5 miles away before I was able to get to the food, then I open container and First presentation was messy and first bite was not into a soft pulled pork sandwich but biting into something dry and hard so I had to open the sandwich and find all the meat pieces were hard, burned and was dried out and like it had been there for weeks and drenched in dark bbq sauce, and I’ve worked for the school food service dept and know this would of been unacceptable to feed students or anyone, I was deeply disappointed so I called the company and asked to speak to owner but he only comes in when he wants to the young man on phone told me but that he would get the manager to call me and see what he could do. Let’s see if I get a call back today December 2024 before the New Year. Customer deserve better food quality and discard All 2 day old left overs. It wasn’t even worth giving to an animal that could easily choke on. Lord says pray for everything and everyone. Bless them and help them improve Spiritually and naturally! It all...

Gave this place a chance even though it was a little out of our way, and very glad we did! The food was outstanding. We tried several of the menu options and everything we had tasted great. We especially enjoyed the boudin sandwich and the cracklings. Possibly the best boudin I’ve ever had and definitely the best cracklings. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly and had a nice delicious amount of pork on them as well! My only complaint was the price for the amount of cracklings we got. $10 for a 1/2 pound is a little steep but I would’ve been ok with that had I felt I actually got a 1/2 pound. Other than that though, I still felt this place was worthy of 5 stars because the taste and quality of the food is that good. I really hope this place makes it and word gets around. The location is definitely not the best considering it’s easy to miss it and there’s really not many other businesses occupying the other spaces around it. We will try our best to spread the word, however, and we will definitely be back! 😋👍🏻

Found this spot online, decided to give it try. First off costumer service was a lil off to me!!! No eye contact and was very dry. Have off the impression that he wanted us to hurry up . Keep in mind it was our first time here and really didn’t know wat to get . I ended up just getting boudin and Cracklin . After I checked out a couple came up next . He greeted them, made eye contact and asked how the was and offered them samples of his food. We never received that introduction !!!! Then he asked them hello, is this your first time here? I’m standing there in amazed this young Afro American brother didn’t even show us any of this service. Well of course I want tell wat color the other costumers was that he was catering too!!! I thought all money was green and you shouldn’t cater to just who you think would give you better business !!! I will not be back!!! I will say crackling was prepared fresh and it was best I’ve tasted , haven’t tried boudin yet!

We’ve been seeing this place along Highway 69 on the way into Houston. Finally pulled in for lunch. This is not exactly what I expected. It’s kind of a fast food looking place where you order off the board and then they bring you the food. They do have about six or eight tables so you can dine in. That being said, I must say that the food was excellent. I got the Boudin balls and the red beans and rice and my wife got the chicken waffle sandwich. Everything was excellent. The staff was really friendly. They also have frozen uncooked boudin and sausages that they make right there, packaged so you can take it home and throw it on your own grill. I bought several packages of different links for my brother and I look forward to trying them. If you find yourself on 69 near Rosenberg, you have to stop in and try this little gem of a place. We look forward to stopping by again and try and some of their other menus. I think my next dish will be the gumbo.
