Bao’s Asian cafe — Restaurant in Rosenberg

Let me start off by saying the food is okay at best. I’ve had better Chinese food. This place just happens to be close to my job. My usual go-to spot is Jade Cafe on Eldridge. Anywho, I made the mistake of going here on my hour lunch break on 7/28/22. This was my second time eating from here, but my first time dining in. They were pretty busy and the waitress seemed to be the only person waiting on tables. She was literally running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Smh. After my husband and I ordered our food, my food was brought out but his was not. As the minutes passed by I noticed there were several other tables that came in long after us that were having their food brought out to them. It took me several tries to get the attention of our waitress, but once I finally did she came toward the table and noticed that she had forgotten to bring the to-go container I asked for. Before I could say anything she ran back to grab one and bring it to the table. When she got to the table I let her know that we had been there for 45 minutes and my husband had still not received his food. So I politely told her I would be paying for everything else that was ordered, but they needed to comp his meal because we were ready to leave and his food still had not come. The manager came over and agreed. The food was finally brought out, ready to go, I paid and left. Not sure if I’ll be back. If I do decide to eat here again I will do to-go...

I love this place. The food and service are usually on point. However, tonight I came in and found a small rubber band in my food. It looked like a rubber band that may go on vegetables or something like that. I let my waiter know quietly and he called over someone else who instead of listening to what I was saying, he began to try and explain that it was cabbage or some other vegetable. Um no sir it was not. At that point I didn't want the plate and asked him to remove it. He proceeded to try and tell me the food was okay and again I asked that it be removed. He finally took my plate...never apologized, never asked if I wanted something else (which I didn't). What upsets me more is no one ever came over to give us drink refills or check to see if we needed anything. The waiter walked by and dropped the ticket at the table and said nothing else. I felt like they just wanted us to exit the restaurant. They did make it right by not charging for the plate, but if looks could kill I would've been dead on the floor before I walked out. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and the attitude shown to me and my family because I refused to eat a rubber band. Perhaps the lesson here is to listen to your customers instead of trying to explain away a mistake...one that I was willing to accept had it not been for the poor attitude shown to me...

Tired after being on the road when we stopped for the night, we looked online to find food nearby. After finding 2 fast food chains with reviews that included not so clean places, I looked outside the safe places. Being brave we ordered food from Bao’s and it was amazing. I had the tenderest beef with a nice little kick: Mongolian Beef With white rice. Hubby travels over his King Pao chicken. Portion size created a dilemna for us. The dishes were quite large. We found that we really wanted the rest of our meals so we removed our beverages and instead packed the leftovers in our small ice chest. And left our water out to warm. We were so excited after arriving home the next day and enjoying the rest of our meals. Reheated and still delicious!! P.S. Delivery...
