I was purposely mislead by the employee at the front desk while canceling my membership, told that the $60 fee would buyout the remainder of my contract and settle all billing between myself and planet fitness. Three employees were at the counter and heard this from him, and the next day i was magically charged an additional monthly fee for the following month which I have not used and will not use. I notified management "eve" was the name she used, eve said that the employees are not abke to make that call and that she had every right to the additional month because it was in the original paperwork from one year ago at signing. This would have been understandable had the employee been honest or up front, however he was neither. he stated that i had $44 dollars worth of contract left to make it to term, and that i would have to wait out the 2 months or pay the buyout to cancel on the spot. I told him that I would take the second option and simply pay the fee and be done with the whole thing, which he said we were doing. If he had been right I would not be here voicing my opinion, These folks are either completely inept, or they are crooks. The manager of the location "Eve" was unapologetic for the miscommunication on the part of her sales assosiate and frankly rude when asked to honor his actions. I advise you to research their customer service and terms completely before signing up with these folks. I would love an opportunity to speak to the owner of this franchise location to discuss what...

Read moreExperience at PF was fine until I tried to cancel my membership. I went in person and spoke with an employee about cancelling my membership because I was about to move out of state. After answering a couple questions, I received verbal confirmation that my membership had been cancelled. Fast forward a month, I've moved halfway across America and I'm still receiving requests for payment on a membership that should have been cancelled already. After speaking on the phone, I was told that my membership had not been cancelled and that I should have signed a form to cancel my membership. Which they failed to let me know when I attempted to cancel my membership in person. I would either have to fly back to Texas to handle the matter in person or mail a letter via USPS with a signature stating I want to cancel my membership. The Store Manager refuses to waive any payments "due" and refuses to cancel my membership until I pay whatever balance is "due".
TLDR; tried to cancel my membership in person but the employee was either too incompetent or wanted to screw me over by not properly cancelling my membership before I moved halfway across America. Now I can't cancel my membership until I pay my...
