Johnnie the cashier is a Saint. Had to navigate a huge line by himself on a busy Monday afternoon which included a customer who verbally harassed him about lack of customer service and how the self checkout should take cash because 'this is america and it's legal tender' (ya know, since they definitely have control over that). Johnnie stayed patient and polite. As a fellow retail worker I know how difficult it is to deal with customers like that.
I needed help figuring out why my check engine light was on. He was great about doing the free finder service and it popped up that my gas tank cap is missing (oops!). He checked to see if they had any in stock that would fit my older Prius and unfortunately they didn't. He then gave me directions to a different auto parts store down the road which is fantastic customer service: he could have just said oh well sorry, but instead he directed me to a different business.
Finally I needed some wiper fluid which he offered to put in my car himself which is great because I have no idea where it would go!
If you're reading this PLEASE remember that all of us out here working retail/customer service are doing the best that we can. Please be patient and kind--like Johnnie--and if you find yourself struggling just ask yourself WWJD (what would Johnnie do?)
First time at an AutoZone and would definitely come back here if I have car questions or need...
Read moreThis AutoZone is fantastic. I had the most phenomenal experience here. The folks who work at this store are leagues above all others and gave me the best customer service I have experienced in an auto store.
Good service in the auto industry is hard to come by but these guys truly break the mold. They gave me honest pricing with zero attempts to upsell. When I opted for the cheapest battery option, I expected resistance. I expected them to try to persuade me to buy the more expensive one as most auto stores do. However, I was pleasantly surprised to get the opposite reaction. They applauded my choice and helped me check out, no upselling involved.
Then things got awesome. I took my battery home and tried to install it. After a couple frustrating hours, I decided to just return the battery and take the car into my (expensive) mechanic. I drove back to AutoZone and when I explained this to them, they came out to the parking lot and installed the battery for me! I was blown away. I have NEVER received this type of care at a store in my life. They didn't try to charge me anything, they just did it because they're awesome and caring people. I drove home having had my week made.
I 1000% (yes, thousand) recommend this AutoZone location if you're in need of honest, caring help...
Read moreWent in to get my battery tested. Waited a long time to get any help. I was the only customer there at the time. Finally got help, employee tested my battery and told me I would need to charge it and to bring the battery inside. I didn't have any means on me to remove my battery from my car, asked if he could help. I thought the employee would help with that endeavor, instead he hands me a small wrench and told me to take the battery out myself. The wrench he gave me was not doing the job as the nut was stuck on the bolt. I went back in to inform the employee of the problem, he proceeds to lecture me on how to use a simple tool in a condescending manner. I asked if there's anyone else that could help. He told me they were short on staff and no one can help and to go to a different store. There were other employees in the shop, I was still the only customer.
I just wanted some help with a battery, instead I got a lecture and told no one could help....
